This book is tiny - its postcard size. It has a black fabric cover and pages are black with silver white text. It has a really high quality feel to it.

The graphics/prints/images inside include some familiar stuff as well as not so familiar. They are gorgeous bright colourful prints (and reflective were his original works were).

Some background to this book. It is based around a 1973 exhibition catalogue that was produced to Hundertwasser's own high standards - everything was chosen specifically by him, including the size (he wanted it small enough to fit in a pocket or handbag). The quality and cost caused publishers to dismiss the idea of printing/reprinting it so it was produced by a friend of Hundertwasser's and sold numerous editions (in its original form). This edition, still produced to Hundertwasser's exacting standards, is the first edition since 1983 and celebrates what would have been his 80th birthday.

I can only re-iterate how lovely this book looks and feels. If the house was on fire and I could only rescue a few things - this is one of them. It's also one of those books I can see myself in the future buying as gifts for people; even if they have never heard of the artist its a pleasure.

This is a book originally produced by Hundertwasser to accompany his exhibition. It was produced small so people could carry it around in their pockets.

It's beautifully produced, in foil printing throughout and linen hardback cover. So the prints themselves are excellent quality.
However, it is worth noting that although a lot of the prints are the size of the book (postcard size), there are also lots approximately postage stamp size.

If you are prepared for this, then you'll appreciate the book.

Overall it's something a bit unique and different, just like Hundertwasser himself.

Photographs of products on Amazon do not always mention their sizes: this book is a wee one - approx. 15cm height x 12cm width - BUT WHAT A BOOK! The first thing I noticed was its 170 gsm black velvet-offset paper, then its beautiful reproductions of Hundertwasser's work. When I say "beautiful" I mean "breathtakingly beautiful" for each illustration - and there are 98 of them - is printed in 4 scale colours, gold & silver, metal embossing in 9 colours, and I cannot stop picking up this little book to marvel at the quality of it. It is a touchable-feelable book. There are 144 pages in all - and these are filled with beautiful thoughts, such as: "The Lines I trace with my FEET WALKING to the Museum are more important than the lines I find there hung up on the walls." and the lettering, either Souvenir or "Regentag" (Rainy Day), the latter created by Hundertwasser himself, is artwork too. This is a lovingly-created book, redolent of the love of art and the love of books. The hard-linen cover is bound with red-thread: perfection! I want to give a copy of this to ALL my book-loving and art-loving friends. It is beautiful purchase. Thank you, Alfredo

I bought this book for a friend but I couldn't help delving into it myself. It's a charming book, beautifully printed. It's a joy to look through it and the embossed foil makes it even more fancy.

The range of paintings in the book is, from what I can see, excellent. The publishers have clearly chosen Hundertwasser's best works and printed them magnificently.

There are also essays on the man himself, both in English and German (which is fabulous as my recipient speaks both languages) and an interesting and helpful timeline of his life.

I have no doubt that any Hundertwasser fan would simply adore this book, so don't hesitate to buy this. It is well worth the money :)
