There is no 'truth' in any religion, and many of the dogmatic religions have done many bad things. But religion isn't going anywhere. Humans are evolutionary creatures, and humans (the collective, a discussion at the individual level is pointless) will turn to religion/faith/non-rational beliefs as and when they require them.

Trying to combat the irrational with rational argument is such a colossal waste of time, as John Gray has pointed out many many times. Better to probe and understand the truths about humanity rather than convince humanity about the untruths of religion.
