HALL OF FAMETOP 1000 REVIEWERon 13 September 2013
First released in 2006, this is the eighth episode of a of the first standalone series for Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor outside of the monthly range of Big Finish releases. This is a one disc release, with a single 50 minute episode. There are some interviews with cast and crew at the end of the disc.

This is the second part of a two part story that wraps up the first season. Picking straight up from the cliffhanger at the end of part one, the Doctor realises the truth and just what a terrible mistake he has made. Pretty soon we are thrust into a thrilling adventure as the Doctor and Lucie struggle to defeat Cybermen, whilst simultaneously unravelling the Time Lord's interventions and working out just what is REALLY going on.

It's another fun run around for Eight and Lucie, with a script that just crackles with energy. McGann and Smith are on top form, clearly having a lt of fun. But there are some darker moments here, which they also handle very well to make this a really top drawer episode. T's a great way to wrap up the season, 5 stars.

A good story, but would have been better to have been sold as a 2 disc set. This disc features the Cybermen but does have comedy elements in it. Some of the Cybermans words are difficult to hear clearly,a small point but on the whole Nick Briggs does his usual great job with the cyber voices. Highly recommended.

Too much of this consisted of the very grating cyberman voice, which at times wasn't easy to make out. Let the story down. Much preferred other ones in this series.

VINE VOICETOP 500 REVIEWERon 28 August 2007
eighth and last [although a second season is on the way] in the first season of audio adventures for the eighth doctor who and his companion, feisty northern girl lucie miller. These cd's contain stories that are either complete in fifty minutes or are two parters. Just like the current tv series.

This is the conclusion of a two part story, that also brings all the ongoing story arcs that have run throughout this season to a head.

See the review of part one for some of the plot details. It ended on a big cliffhanger with the unexpected arrival of an old foe [I won't give it away, but they are on the box] and now the doctor has to fight to save lots of lives. And discover the truth about lucie.

There's a lot to get through in this one, and it doesn't disappoint. It isn't quite as good a second parter as blood of the daleks part two as there's a lot going on in it and it gets a bit crowded, but it's still a very satisfying epic. I look forward to further adventures from this tardis crew, because they have a wonderful chemistry together. The cd does end with a trailer for them, and a trailer for the forthcoming the girl who never was. Which is the final story featuring the eighth doctor's earlier companion charley. I just thought to mention this because it doesn't say 'coming soon from big finish' before these, so you might get confused.

Don't get this in isolation, as you'll get more from them by hearing them in order. Start with blood of the daleks part one

Better than part 1, I was a bit let down by the cyber-voices in parts, as they could be a bit muffled, but on the whole I thought this was a very good production.

The Script writing is better in this episode than in the first, and this episode also makes more sense of the story-arc as well. It seem's I always enjoy McGann's doctor, it's a shame we will probably never see or hear an eigth/ninth doctor regeneration scene.

This is a well written and gripping plot, which is well worth a listen. It's infused with all the usual suspense and terror.
