This is my first read from this author and I really liked the authors writing style, it was descriptive enough and kept moving.
I'm not going to try explain the story, don't think I could if I tried, I will tell you there are two types of people living in this world norm and gmo people and the rich people are gmo as they can afford it. Something us about to change in the world and Sadie's life is about to change forever.
Some intriguing characthers, Who is trustworthy though!
The story is moving constantly and you'll keep turning the pages until the last page where you'll want book 2 now!
I have to say this was a 'clean' read, only some kissing and suggestive thoughts, whether book 2 and maybe 3 will be I don't know.

I was gifted an ARC of this ebook in exchange for my honest review. Opinions in this review are my own.
I will say this before I review the book. I admire an author that isn’t afraid to step out of the box. To test the waters in another genre, wherever she’s called by her characters and given the previous books I’ve read by her, this author definitely did that here. This book being a departure from her previous more contemporary works and focusing strongly on a more supernatural/fantasy element.
For this reader she hit it out of the park. Fantastic Read. Truly engaging and everything I would hope to find in a book of this nature. Though I will admit to actually being afraid when I first started reading because tackling a book in this genre is usually quite difficult and ripe with a whole lot of detail. Detail that requires time and specific attention given to it.
Detail that in the end wasn’t an issue here. Everything brought to light, abilities, good versus evil, who the players were and just what the heck was going on given just the right amount of attention to pull me in, keep me engaged and by the time the book ended, even make me want to pull my hair out with my need for more.
More answers. More Paxton, Sadie and all of the characters whose motivations I’m not quite sure of that were introduced along the way. I just need more of everything.
This is a book that I can’t really delve into because of the sheer amount of things that take place within in, and because I’m not one of those readers that wants to give anything away, but if more fantasy based reading is up your alley, even dystopian, then I think you’ll like this. I know I certainly did and I don’t normally gravitate toward this type of story.
The characters were brought to life well, I could identify with them at times, understand them and their motivation even if one of them definitely threw me for one hell of a loop and has me now questioning everything I thought I knew. They were very believable and strong and made the situation they were thrown into pop that much more off the page.
Pacing, was smooth. No real lulls that dragged it down or nonsense thrown in for the sake of it. A pretty quick read all things considered, which was one aspect I wasn’t expecting but enjoyed all the same.
Just remember going in that it is the first book in a series and that it ends in quite an open ended way and you’ll be golden.
I personally can’t wait to see what the author and these characters have in store for me next in the follow-up book.
Sadie is in for some major surprises in her life. In her short 18 years she has many questions that have gone unanswered. Not wanting to push her mother too far she lets it go. Maybe that was a mistake but it is too late now. With strange things happening around her and strange abilities emerging, Sadie needs answers now. When her mother goes missing it is even worse. Will the guy she is starting to fall for be able to help her?
With the scientific evolutions taking place due to P.T.E. life is getting more and more scary. Will Sadie be able to survive the chaos that is getting ready to rain down on her? You will have to read this gripping tale to find out.
I will be looking forward to the next book and will be trying to wait patiently. Thank you.
