It had a few software issues with the companion app when I first had it, mostly to do with which apps could push notifications (some would crash the companion app, some just wouldn't push), these have all been polished out now and it works well.
Battery life is excellent unless you are using the GPS tracking, under normal use with all the functions turned on included all day heart rate monitoring and advanced sleep tracking I can easily get 2 weeks use, however, if I use it for tracking a bike ride I can get at most 3 hours from a full charge and more likely 2 hours.
However, less than 6 months in the strap will no longer fasten to the body, after a about a month it was showing signs of swelling as per other reviews on Amazon. This got worse to the point that the top half came away from the plastic clip it should fasten too but it still fastened okay. However, this morning it has given up all together and I'm trying to get a replacement sorted as I can't wear it anymore.

UPDATE Nov 2018: Amazon has a new low price of £35 making this even better value for money. Also, in response to others who have had issues with their watch's strap, I've had no issues with mine and neither has my other half. We've been swimming with ours several times, I've bashed mine against a wall a few times by accident when carrying a large load up the stairs (it suffered a few minor scratches but hardly noticeable). We've had our watches since Dec 2017 and Jan 2018 respectively and they're still going great, work perfectly and are holding month-long battery charges with Bluetooth always on, WhatsApp, phone and text notifications being read and step counts too, of course. Using GPS saps battery power very quickly mind you - to a few hours - so keep that in mind if it's a feature you're keen to use a lot.
Thought this worth adding as perhaps there was a defective batch made, but others (most?) like mine are perfect. Finally, a friend with a Fitbit costing three times as much has just switched to one, after the Fitbit failed more than once.

That is not to say that I 'hate' the product but it is simply the complete lack of a manual/instruction book makes the use of this item a nightmare of fiddling and wondering what is going on.
The Huawei website has no information and the customer service centre can't help either (because there is no manual!).
In fact, just to get it working at all I had to contact the customer service centre to find out what apps to download to my 'phone.
I am sure that it can do lots of wonderful things but I haven't a clue what and how.
Comfortable, waterproof (I always wear in shower), measurements seem pretty accurate mostly (though I have a low HR and looks to me like it usually doubles HRs under 40 as often happens to me on my phone app). I have a Huawei phone & sync's well - in initial days seemed to need to reconnect band & phone a lot but increasingly stable). GPS display of workout in app is great and other data input & display pretty user-friendly but not clear that there is a way to download data or chart in app itself (e.g. resting HR every day). Easy to customise which apps notify via vibrate - great way not to miss phone calls (but equally to know that someone's ringing if put phone itself on silent). Runs for quite a while after charging even with 1hr GPS use most days. Does sometimes start workout itself for no apparent reason (perhaps button pressed by accident - sometimes with water pressure in shower, sometimes when in bed) which drains battery if you don't catch it (once woke with no battery life as apparently gone for a 90 minute workout in my sleep...). Strap does come loose sometimes but band never fallen off as doesn't easily come out of main loop through.
Band 2 Pro update (Nov18):
Watch itself still going great but strap leaves a lot to be desired - increasingly loose on clasp (though still not outright fallen off, just frequently goes loose on wrist, quite a few times a day) and one half came away from watch front fixing - I managed to cobble back together with super glue and a tiny screw and still wearing daily a few months on but not impressed. Looks like they've responded to criticisms and made Band 3 strap a normal watch fastening and with replaceable bands, so will probably look to purchase that whenever this one becomes unusable
Band3 Pro review (Mar19):
Purchased Band 3 when reached end of line with Band 2 strap. Quite different from Band 2 - strap is a normal watch fastening which is better but electronics also majorly upgraded. Needs to come with a User Guide (it doesn't) as not that easy to work out how to use, especially when used to operating Band 2 which is all via button at bottom of screen. Band 3 has similar push button which you need to press to wake up screen but otherwise not used that much in operation of band - eventually worked out you have to swipe Up/Down through screens/options and tap screen to go into any option, or swipe right to go back. I have only just worked out how to manage Workouts - for each Workout option you can tap separately on the Target & Alerts section of screen to separately set, then on bottom section with play arrow to start workout. To stop workout, hold down push button until Pausing cycle completes then red square followed by blue tick to Stop workout or blue 'play' triangle to continue. The more detailed, colour graphics mean messages are displayed better (display horizontally in full when you go into so easy to read - great for getting website log-in notification codes from texts!) but also hang around until you clear (if don't tap to go into to read detail, e.g. if already seen via phone) - have to scroll to bottom to Clear All to get rid of. Battery life doesn't seem to be as good as Band 2 and indicator isn't as clear (not even included in display on 2 out of the 3 Faces options - see photos - but then you can tap on face to display bluetooth & battery icon by themselves which makes them bigger & clearer). May be worse on battery life as 'continuous' Heart Rate measurement is more frequent - every 5 mins instead of every 10mins?
