Superb low light camera, brilliant battery life

First off, I don't do selfies or social media, so consider that when reading this review.
I wanted a new phone, my HTC M8 was getting long in the tooth, slowing down, battery life getting worse. I'm a keen photographer, but lumping a Canon 7d and 3 lenses around just isn't practical, so I wanted something portable that could take decent pictures. This, at the price I got it for, is absolutely superb and a real bargain. Battery easily lasts 2 days with my normal usage (say 60 mins calls, 5 photos, 4 hours browsing, playing music/games etc.), and the fast charger fills the battery very quickly, never timed it, but less than 2 hours. Photo quality is great, portraits are lovely, with SLR type bokeh, low light photographs are remarkable (but does suffer some iso artefacts if you zoom in a lot), my photographer friends have all commented on the photos taken, so it can't be bad.
Latest Android is a cinch to use. Massive 128Gb storage is a real boon. Even loading half of my record collection (which is all FLAC) there's still loads of space for the photographs it's so good at.
Overall, 2 months in, I love this phone. It does everything well, some things brilliantly. Yet to find any bad points.

I have owned several Apple and Samsung phones in the past. This phone is a replacement for my I phone 5Se 128 gb. I have had this phone for about 4 weeks. I can say without doubt it the best smart phone I have owned. There are so many good things about this phone. I used to have a lot of issues with my I Phone with poor internet connection and call drop outs tbought it was O2 that were the problem not at all this phone is spot on instant connection to mobile net work in places were I phone would not work. I can now use my hands free in my car without being constantly cut off. Good build quality and the camera is brilliant easy to use would recommend tripod for the night function to avoid out of focus shots. Can be done without but a steady hand is required. Loads apps lightning fast a bargain better than phones costing twice the price..

Love the camera, battery life and has a great display. I do miss a headphone port for stereo sound with my headphones. Bluetooth headset that comes with it is ok but long term use leads to sweaty ears. The USB C to headphone jack adapter in box only does mono sound. The headphones in the box are ok sound wise but not made for comfort.

The headphones are an added bonus and my wife loves the phone - but for less than half the price you can get the Honor 10, also made by Huawei, the only hardware difference is a dual camera not triple camera. £450 is a lot to pay extra for a slightly better camera.

The battery lasts around 1 to 2 days , dependant on usage. The supplied charger really surpasses itself giving 100% capacity in less than a few hours which is really impressive. The camera is really excellent and I use it often, also for video in which the sound is pretty good, however the zoom is juddery. This is pretty much why I bought it ...The only downside for me is it won't play imported music files (Any Format) so I use Amazon music player app instead which plays fine.
