Paige works in the fashion industry and just after receiving a promotion, she finds her boyfriend cheating on her. She also has bereavement in the family. She inherits a cabin which she visited thirteen years ago when she was only ten years old. It's in a remote location and she decides to visit not knowing what state of the cabin would be in, after such a long time.

Rider is the son of the Alpha of a remote community of werewolves. They have strict rules in place to keep their true nature hidden from humans. Riley is only too familiar with the feelings of losing someone close, shot by hunters. When Paige stops a the local shop, Rider is there too and they end up just staring at each other. Rider appears to know who Paige is but she is a little spooked by his stare. She finds something unusual in her cabin the next day. She gets worried and scared but the sheriff is very reluctant to help. She thinks that her best bet is to return home but on her way out, she has an accident. She finds herself in a strange place in pain and disorientated. Rider's twin sister, Quinn informs her that she was saved by him. Is it a coincidence? Then, she finds a white wolf asleep besides her bed and alarm bells start ringing. Will they have no choice but to reveal their true nature to Paige? Why is Rider so fascinated by her? Their rules dictate that humans are to be kept out of their community but Paige and Ryder can't deny their attraction for each other. It's an impossible situation. To complicate matters Dominic, an ex pack member decides to return for reinitiation in the community. Does he have a hidden agenda?

This story is based on Norse gods who gave the wolves the ability to shift into humans.

Paige has lots happen to her all at once, she decides to go the the cabin in the woods to take some time out. It brings back memories of when she was a child and befriended a wolf pup.

Paige is in the middle of a wolf den, Aiden is the alpha and Riley and Quinn are his betas and children. I found the relationship between parent and child and siblings funny as Aiden is alpha, he still gets to treat them like children! Then again Riley and Quinn have an adolescent vibe when winding each other up as many siblings do.

These are wolfs though, they consider themselves wolf, that can look human, a different way of looking at it for sure. They have laws that must not be broken. I enjoyed the world building and could picture there home area. It was a very males rule setting, males will defend you, males can claim you, but it's the animal world and that's how wolves are.

Riley and his family are British and I loved the words he used that Paige didn't understand, how can you not know peckish or row lol. Riley is a white wolf, his very sweet and caring, but his also beta so has a fierce side too - some of which surprised me. I was took back when he asked if she would make love with him in wolf form, then again his very well endowed when wolf.......

I did find Riley a bit pushy at times, but he fell in love years ago, Paige has always felt a connection to the White wolf so it doesn't take much to fall for the grown up version.

Paige is a career woman, she's got a big promotion and lots to look forward to. She gives up everything very quickly without much debate, that's love for you I suppose.

This is an enjoyable shifter read that has many twists and turns to keep you turning pages.

I'd like to read more about these characthers, maybe Quinn's book.

This is a different paranormal shifter story with Norse mythology added for good measure! I really liked the explanation for the existence of wolf shifters and the enthralling plot into which it is woven. It is a unique take on this genre, with many new to me aspects which make this such an enjoyable story to get lost in (and my family can confirm that I really did get lost in it, I really needed 'Do Not Disturb' signs around me whilst reading it!)

There are many well portrayed characters in the story, from Paige and Riley, to his family and step family and her Mum and boss. I couldn't quite make my mind up about Riley, he's a total mix of strong beta male threatening to be alpha but love makes him into more of a howling, weak, wretch at times. Most of the story is set in a small, remote village in the Colorado Rockies, with a tight knit community complete with its own set of rules and regulations. Although Paige and Riley met when she was only ten years old he's been fixated on her being his mate ever since. I liked the reveal about how he got her to return to visit and the role of the gods in their reunion. There are plenty of anxious moments as the story develops, including a fight to the death. To find out between whom and why, you'll just have to read it yourself!

A great addition to shifter romance writing, I suspect this author's work will just keep on improving!

Many thanks to IndieSage PR for providing me with an ecopy of this novel to read in exchange for my honest review.
