It's a fascinating book, one of the best I've ever read and the language is incredibly lucid because the author has experienced or realized that which he wishes to expound. I read it in one sitting with a smile on my face. When was the last time I read a book, smiling all along as I read it? I can't think of any.

This book is on par with that of Eckhart Tolle's "Power of Now" and I am surprised not many know of it. A must read for everyone, even if you don't understand it, go through it, for when you reach a point in life where everything around you is crumbling, you will think of this book and when you read it again, you will understand everything that the author wishes to convey.

The two keys and the four maps is a system that has the ability to destroy itself which is of utmost importance if one has to die as a caterpillar and take birth as a butterfly. The book shows you the path to dissolve yourself or attain unity consciousness and for that everything that you stand for has to melt into nothingness just as the awareness of the sun's rays melt the snow, and the flowing water is turned into vapour where it becomes formless and merges with the universe.

The questions that the author asks you to ask yourself are very thought provoking and help you uncover your true self. He puts it very nicely "Myths and folk tales often tell the same story. A knight clad in armour - the ego - rides deep in the dark forest - the unconscious. His task is to vanquish dragons and demons - his guilt, his fears, his conflicts. On setting foot in the castle, he removes his armour and embraces the Sleeping Beauty lying in a glass coffin who instantly wakes up. This scene represents the union with your true nature.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will prove to help many! Make the lasting changes that you have always longed for. 13 Mar. 2014

How to Get Out of This World Alive is truly an amazing read. The blending together of so many thought patterns – philosophy, mysticism, metaphysics, and psychology – is not an easy thing to do, but the author here did it flawlessly. This book challenges the reader to look within themselves – deep within the subconscious – to make changes that will “stick” and ultimately change their life. How to Get Out of This World Alive will be a wake-up call to many while empowering readers to make the changes necessary to live an exuberant life. In other words, this book teaches us to be “alive” in our own lives!

This is the ultimate handbook that will give us the tools and techniques necessary to make these life enhancing changes. The teaching of The Four D’s is brilliant and the self-discovery questions that the author challenges us to answer will help us find our own answers. These offerings have been researched and time-tested so credibility is not a concern.

The design of the book along with the content, the research, and practicality of the presentation leads me to give it five stars!

I highly recommend this book to anybody that has struggled to find happiness and fulfillment in their life, people that struggle with their well-being, and to people that are looking to make a drastic, lasting change in their life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trustworthy Body of Work 11 Mar. 2014

The empowerment I felt from reading "How to Get Out of This World Alive" is hard to describe. It was like I was seeing my true self for the first time. It was radically different from the image I had been projecting for so much of my adult life. I felt the author, Alain Forget, tap into my subconscious while reading and allow all these new truths to reveal themselves.

I love that it uses techniques and principles from other religions and schools of thought to make this a very trustworthy body of work. This book is definitely going to be shared with every person I know. By just practicing mindfulness and allowing your mind to grow, amazing things can take place, as this book did that for me. Compared to other books in the genre, How to Get Out of This World Alive clearly stands apart as one of the most researched, thoughtful, and user-friendly in the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Practical and Approachable Look at Spirituality 7 Feb. 2014
By Penny - Published on Amazon.com

In this book of self-help and spiritual exploration, Alain Forget really boils down large and sometimes ethereal concepts into accessible information for anyone who wants to examine their life more fully. I really enjoyed his take on subjects that I have been taught my whole life. You don't realize how blessed you are until you view the world through the eyes of people who do not have the same background as you. I don't say that to sound like a know it all, or in any way that may seem derogatory and I hope my meaning isn't lost in type. Alain's voice as an author and teacher is so desperately needed by all of the lost and hurting hearts in this world.

We have been conditioned to believe one of two things (or both); exploring the spiritual side of our being is hippy dippy, or exploring the nature of spirituality is blasphemous. Both are incredibly wrong. To quote Teilhard de Chardin's The Phenomenon of Man, "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience." Each one of our journeys is incredibly individual, but at the same time a shared experience. To not truly plumb the depths of what our soul is, is to cheat ourselves of the full measure of our design and purpose. Doing so allows us to live a more meaningful life and connect more deeply with those around us. Alain gently explores this topic in a way that is non-offensive and non-denominational; no simple task to be sure.

If you are ready to take stock and truly examine your spirituality and full potential, then Alain Forget's "How to Get Out of This World Alive," is a wonderful guide for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Thoughtful and Incredibly Insightful Guide to "Getting Out Alive" 4 Feb. 2014
By T. Coker - Published on Amazon.com

When "How To Get Out Of This World Alive" first came to my attention I was immediately intrigued by the uniquely compelling premise of the book and once I started reading it I was utterly captivated by Alain Forget's unique philosophy about life and improving it (and yourself) for the better. This is a book that explores who we are, what we do and how we think in a wonderfully insightful way. It thoughtfully takes you on a journey of self-discovery that helps in understanding our own failings, our weaknesses and strengths so that we can learn from them and grow in truly exceptional ways.

The author uses a vivid and vibrant writing style that draws you into the complex world of knowing oneself and the psychology behind who we are and what we do. He provides a fantastically in depth guide to improving ourselves and our lives with tools, techniques and advice that walk the line between "psychology, philosophy, mysticism and metaphysics" in a carefully balanced way. It's well written with a casual but informative writing style that is straightforward and incredibly honest in its approach.

Overall, this turned out to be an insightful book that expanded my mind, allowing me to embrace living my life to the fullest and truly taking the reins of life in my own hands and making it what I want it to be, rather than what it has unintentionally become. I would definitely recommend the book to those who want to gain valuable insight into changing their lives for the better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes Everything Clear 5 Feb. 2014

Any related topic that falls under the umbrella of self-help that includes psychology and spirituality is covered in How to Get Out of this World Alive. It's really all-encompassing. You can tell that the authors, Alain Forget and others, speak from a place of real expertise and first-hand knowledge. It's also really impressive how all of their views align very cohesively. At the end you are equipped with the proper background knowledge, an array of choices and views, and the tools to move forward. Each person's journey is different, and I think that's an important aspect of How to Get Out of this World Alive. The one thing that is across the board is that you have to be able to overcome those mental and subconscious obstacles that keep your life static.

There is a lot to learn from this book. Before reading, I had a hard time conceptualizing ego, evolution, enlightenment, distancing, and other concepts. How to Get Out of this World Alive made everything so clear to me. Some of it is really sophisticated, and this described things in a way where I could apply it to my own life to identify, target, and act differently than before. Great resource, and extremely well-written piece of non-fiction!
