The book is exactly what I was looking for. It breaks down everything including all the buzzwords etc and places it in easy to follow chapters. The contents are also clearly not based on what the author has read or heard elsewhere, but based on actual experience which makes it invaluable compared to the waffle in some of the books out there that are 3 or 4 times this price.
A must have handbook for anyone in or interested in Processes or Process Management.

The book is lucid and engaging. It is a great introduction to Business Process Management (BPM) for business and engineering practitioners and students - at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

Business Processes as an asset for creating customer value, and realizing the corporate vision is critical to becoming competitive, agile and efficient in the information economy. The information economy, driven by 21st century technology and global competition, is rapidly expanding to envelop the globe. Corporate alliances and supply chains are creating extended enterprises and business-on-demand models that cross several continents. The chapters of this book describe how processes may be managed as an information asset. Each chapter builds on the information in previous chapters to create a gripping and cogent story of how work gets done in a human enterprise.

This is a practitioner's story. The book captures the voice of over 3 decades of Mr. Mahal's experience of how work gets done, and how to do it better in the global economy driven by the unrelenting pressures of change and opportunity. I will not hesitate to recommend this book to executives and operational managers responsible for orchestrating 21st century organizations and supply chains.
