I was expecting to learn about techniques used but was surprised that the book ended so quickly after a few card trick explanations. I'm sure the author is good but he has not revealed much. This is not "how to be a mentalist".

I loved this book.

Mentalists over the past ten years have always fascinated me. I have always asked myself "How on earth did they do that?" From Derren Brown through to David Blaine I have always marvelled at how they amaze people in the streets (not that I want to walk the street doing magic!)

I have managed to amaze my friends and family after reading this book. The online video was a great help and now I am hooked!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read! 9 May 2014

Ian McCoy is a fantastic magician, musician, mentalist, and now again author/instructor. This book is a fast read, yet covers some amazing and fun mentalism effects. His discussions and instructions are clear, to the point, and very well explained with the added ability to view the effects bring preformed as well as seeing Ian explain the effects via video links. Well worth the very inexpensive cost whether you're new to mentalist or an experienced practitioner. This book is one more hit in Ian's repertoire of writings.
