The book would have been adequate for most eight-year-olds. For an adult with minimal gardening experience, it is a complete disappointment. There are plenty of free articles on the internet that are far more informative. One topic not even touched on is pollination techniques. A good rule of thumb when growing indoors is "if it blooms, it must be hand-pollinated to produce edibles". There are several different ways this can be done.
