Bought on Kindle, when will kindle books actually have decent pictures, they are so small and poor in quality. This book is very shot, very little by way of diagrams or practice, virtually nothing showing actual brush strokes. Written information was fine, nut it's art, SO few pictures and so small. Very disappointed
4.0 out of 5 starsWonderful intro, convenient delivery

If you're looking for a comprehensive introduction to beginning Chinese brush painting, you've found a good resource in this book. I'm able to load this up on my Kindle or PC cloud reader, and follow the step-by-step instructions. The book is in color (something you don't notice from its "cover"), and the painting strokes are clear within the illustrations. One reason I gave this book four stars instead of five, though, is that the description on how to perform the strokes is occasionally lacking (orchid petals, for example). It's still a good book--it's a bit brief, but you get the basic "Four Gentlemen"--the four basic foundation subjects--plus a few extra subjects.
