The title might have you thinking, "Oh no, here's another how to get rich quick book", but actually its almost the complete opposite. This book won't help you get rich quick, in terms of money at least, but it will help you get rich quick in terms of knowledge and a greater understanding of what you need to do to move forward with your idea - the best kind of wealth you need right now.

The greatest thing about this book, is how George infuses solid, practical advice with stories of his advice being played out for real.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who either (a) cannot get an idea for an app out of their head, or (b) is stuck/unsure of what to do next, or (c) knows what step 1 is, but is unsure about the critical steps ahead. George has you covered for these and more.

One more thing... this is certainly a book to read, reread and then constantly refer back to during each step of your journey. This is less a book, more a mentor and companion in paper/digital form.

Written in a way that is engaging but also both fun and inspiring.

A must buy for all entrepreneurs, product managers, UX designers or to be honest, anyone that works in a company aiming to become the next big thing.

Even if you're building a traitional business rather than an app, there is tons that can be learnt from reading about George's experiences.

This enjoyable and highly readable book brings together all the major subjects that are critical to building a successful app, and shows you how they fit together and where they are applied during the project. The book covers ideation, market research, building a team, lean product development, monetization, and, uniquely in my opinion, the role and function of finance and investment. The integrated coverage of the business side changes this from a book about the app billionaire fantasy into a practical step by step plan to make it happen. With the lessons of this book, the horizon expands to the point where the true limit is whether you can give the level of commitment needed to go all the way.

This is a great book for anyone looking to start or break into a fast growing tech business. The book is extremely practical. The author builds on the frameworks brought to the forefront by books such as "the lean startup" and showcases how to implement these tools into your business. Having been involved with multiple billion dollar companies, the author highlights case studies from companies, and shows how they solved problems that every entrepreneur will face when growing their business. Refreshingly, it is also extremely honest. Berkowski looks at his learnings from businesses that have succeeded and failed and pulls no punches in the process. This book is a handy reference, and a fun, engaging read. Its one of a handful of business books that I keep in my office as a reference.

Since I launched my first app in 2008, I've read more than a few books on how to generate profit in the mobile space, but this is the first book that I've found that takes you on the journey from start to finish of building a real sustainable and profitable business out of a mobile app idea.

The detailed discussion on adding in analytics early, riding the customer lifecycle, and fine tuning product market fit is extremely insightful. Also, if there is a book on the market that can teach you how to create an awareness strategy for your app, that really will generate "shedloads" of users, this is it! Loved it!

If you are creating a business, or even thinking of creating a business, in the mobile space, this book will be the most important book that you read this year!

I'd highly recommend this book to anyone looking to enter the mobile app space. It totally opened up my eyes to the sheer scale of this business as well as the key steps needed to actualise ones vision of building a valuable and truly scalable mobile product. Before you walk down the long and hard path please read this book.

Highly recommended book for people who want to know more about the psychology behind app building and what makes a great, 'sticky' app. it shows realistically how much work it takes also, which can be a bit of a wake up call but if you are serious about doing it, it is a down to earth guide on what to do.

How to build a billion Dollar (or Euro) company

How to Build a Billion Dollar App: Discover the secrets of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time by George Berkowski

Do you want to become a billionarie? We do. Actually some of our clients are billion dollar companies. When we reviewed Peter Thiels book, from one to zero, we were hoping we would find the answers. We have now.

Peter Thiel

Peter Thiel suggests you should focus on next practice and create a monopoly based on something unique.

That he total net profit that you earn on average over the course of your relationship with a customer (Customer Lifetime Value, or CLV) must exceed the amount you spend on average to acquire a new customer (Customer Acquisition Cost, or CAC).

That you should only start your company with people you know very well and that purpose, cult and culture binds it all together.

To be honest, his book is near to being glib. It is only interesting because Thiel wrote it.

George Berkowski

George Berkowski also writes about how to get to a billion. But he describes the journey from idea to a billion in detail. Using his work with Hailo as the template. It is a cracker. Should be compulsive reading for every entrepreneur. For every business.

Combines the real life journey of an entrepreneur with a lot of the latest thinking on design, organisational development, data, marketing, communication, innovation, customer care, finance, fund raising. And because the talks about it in the context of apps and software it is at high speed.
