I've got a thing about soap, and especially household soap that reminds me of my childhood. This green stuff is beautiful - tactile, easy to grate, and smells of Melrose (remember that hard vaseliney stuff in the pink pot for dry hands?) It also reminds me of washing paintbrushes in the scullery at primary school after an art lesson with Miss Rogers. The wooden drainer on the butler sink was impregnated with the smell of it. I use it (grated) to boil my dishcloths, and it not only smells great but brings them up spotless, and all soft, not cardboardy like they used to be. I'll start using it as hand soap when the gardening season starts again. Luvverly!

This is a product that is difficult to find in supermarkets who just stock expensive stain removers that generally don't work. Old fashioned washing soap on the other hand does work with a bit of elbow grease and for a fraction of the cost. This product is no exception and does work well with a bit of application prior to a wash cycle. There is little doubt I shall buy this product again.

This is a product which my grandmother and my mother used - this covers a period of over a century. It is the best agent to use for the removal of stubborn stains from virtually anything, without spoiling the item being cleaned i.e. Shirt collars, cuffs, aprons, socks etc., etc. tremendous stuff.

I'm very happy with this household soap. It's ecellent for removing pre-wash grime from clothing - collars etc. and lathers in very hard water. As a bonus it does not seem to be hard on the hands. I thoroughly recommend it.4 x Household soap, 125g bars, Green

Brilliant soap just like my gran's wash day soap. It cleans all the stains and grass stains off sporting equipment as well as being my dish washing soap and and laundry soap. There you are 3 uses for the price of one.! I always cut my soaps in half and leave them open to dry out. This makes them last longer. Fine grated soap 1tsp or less goes into the sink for washing up kitchen ware and dishes, Laundry smalls are hand washed in no time at all using a bar, and boiled soap - approx 1 bar in 2 litres of water (grate it first) makes 2 litres of excellent washing detergent. For stains just dip in water and rub with soap and leave in the washing machine to was the next day. Most stains do come out quite easily, others may take one or two additional treatments, It is easy on your hands too.

I always used fairy green soap on any stains on laundry, but they stopped making it and the only way to get it was by paying a extortionate price (£17.00 for two small bars) so I decided to give this one a try, it is fantastic, a little rubbed on stain then pop the item in the washing machine as normal and the stain is gone, you can also grate a little and put it in the pre wash for whites and it really brightens them up. Highly recommended

I use this soap on a daily basis for household cleaning and mainly syain removal. I have found it indispensable since having our daughter two years ago, it even removes the persistent baby food orange stains that seemed to always be found on our daughters bib as a baby. it now gets out every stain i've come across! It smells lovely as well!
