HASH(0x9e3cf0e4) out of 5 stars Great ending to the Unraveled trilogy! 15 Dec. 2013

After completing the third book of the Unraveled series, I marveled at how different each book was. My favorite was The House of Fire. I thought it nice that Evie seemed to be more settled in the House of V. I felt it was a perfect way to complete the series as I truly believed she found peace and a fulfilling life! Anxious to see where this author goes next!

Not as good as the first two in the series.
The action and originality found in the first two were not there.
I think the "V" character "jumped the shark."
The sister and brother in law were barely there.
The police detective, Sanchez, could have had more of a role in the story.

I absolutely loved House of V. I'm not always a fan of Mystery/Thriller books, but this series was amazing. House of V picks up a year after the ending of House of Fire, and Evie finds out that there is one last task that she needs to take care of before she can truly move on with her life. She has to return to Appleton to face not only her past "issues" but the family she left behind when she ran.

The whole series had a similar vibe to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", which drew me in from the first chapter of the first book. I loved that it was set in the Midwest, so there were not lost in translation moments, or concerns that you missed something. The depth of the characters makes you want for more, and my only disappointment is that this story seems to wrap up the series, and I really hate to say goodbye to Evie and the Jones family. I can only hope that there is another adventure out there just waiting for them to be written!

Raen did it again!! Amazing story I just couldn't put down! Smith has a way of drawing you in and and keeping you turning the pages. This book digs a little deeper into Evie's life that you don't get to see in the first two books in this series! Evie comes back to take you through her own inner struggles and thoughts and you see her as a person rather than just a cold-hearted individual out for revenge. All of my questions were answered and I felt a connection to not only the characters, but the story as well! Can't wait to see what else Raen Smith has to offer the world with her words!

This is the third book in Raen Smith's Unraveled Series and it does not disappoint. I'm a Delaney in real life but an Evie in my imagination. This book allowed me to experience the enigma that is Evie Parker; is she a heartless killer like her so-called father or is she the member of a warm and loving midwest family? I couldn't put this book down, I HAD to know who scared Father Haskins to death and why Sister Josephine was being targeted. This was a great conclusion to the Unraveled Series. I'll be watching for more from Ms. Smith!
