In the original House, William Katt (Carrie) stars as Roger Cobb, a horror novelist struggling to pen his next bestseller. When he inherits his aunt s creaky old mansion, Roger decides that he has found the ideal place in which to get some writing done.
Unfortunately, the house s monstrous supernatural residents have other ideas... House II: The Second Story sees young Jesse (Arye Gross) moving into an old family mansion where his parents were mysteriously murdered years before. Plans for turning the place into a party pad are soon thwarted by the appearance of Jesse s mummified great-great-grandfather, his mystical crystal skull and the zombie cowboy who ll stop at nothing to lay his hands on it!
In House 3 (released domestically as The Horror Show) Lance Henriksen (Aliens) stars as a detective who sends a sadistic serial killer to the electric chair, only to find himself stalked by the maniac from beyond the grave.
Meanwhile, House IV: The Repossession has William Katt returning to the fold for one last terrifying tale that mixes seedy mobsters, Native American spirits and a singing pizza in perhaps the barmiest House entry of all! From the team that brought you Friday the 13th, the House films are era-defining horror classics now newly restored and loaded with brand new extras!

First thing to note about the set, is that every single film is a 2k restoration and look terrific. Colours are great, and nicely balanced, detail is superb and everything looks beautifully authentic. Each film has both blu-ray and DVD presentations in a really nice slim-line case with great new artwork, reversible original poster art and a wonderful limited edition 154 page book all wrapped up in a hard cardboard case. Every film boasts a great DTS HD Master 5.1 uncompressed soundtrack, but there also original options for the purists (mono and stereo on House for example) and there's English hard of hearing subtitles on each disc too.
There’s a wealth of extras across every film, including audio commentaries, making of documentaries theatrical trailers and more. But, what really makes this collection stand out from the crowd is the fact that for the first time ever, we have two of the films fully uncut and in high definition. House III is the UNRATED (or 'Eurpoean) cut of the movie, complete with nearly a minute’s worth of MPAA cuts restored but also includes the theatrical version as a viewing option if you wish.Read more ›
good news is all 4 blu ray & dvds are Free Region.... 3-4 been tested on USA PS3 in US.. info came from blu ray com forums....
Unfortunately I have to mark this set down a little on the transfers as they are a little hit and miss. Don't get me wrong, they look better than any previous release but the picture could be much better. It seems to vary from one scene to the next. House 4 is the most disappointing overall with regards to the picture quality. The image is very soft and undefined. Even a little blurry in places. Like I said, this is undoubtedly the best release to date but i feel like Arrow maybe rushed this one or cut costs on the restoration.
To like these films you would have had to have grown up in the 80s as they are a bit dated now.
I remember seeing the poster for house in my local video store when I was a kid.
The trailer was just as scary.
I saw the film when I was in my early teens and loved the movie.
The second film is also a riot and while not as good as the first is still a good film.
3+4 are ok with the lead character returning from the first film for part 4.
I have not looked at the transfer yet but the packaging is amazing. See pics from other reviewer.
Reversible artwork,(I prefer the original) slim cases for the box, an insert leaflet saying about the restoration and transfers (Dvd and Blue Ray) and a very crammed hardback book exclusive to this release full of pics and stuff.
This is quite possibly arrows best work so far.
Grab one before they go.
A nostalgic trip, or if you're just a fan of 80s classic horror, this is a must and at a great price.
Well done Arrow....Again.
House IV is dreadful but the UK DVD was cut so I hope that at least we'll now get the uncut version.
