I found myself angry with this story, too contrived and ridiculous to keep me interested. Does a young child REALLY hold so many specific memories about a meal or steets in a foreign country? Does a man really recognize a 38 year old women in a cafe, when she was only a child the last time he saw her? The book makes attempts at bereavement, and then at humour, then again at romance. None seem to work very well. But I suppose if one is looking for a 'mindless' summer novel, this might fit that bill.
