Product Description

Product Description

Extended version of the comedy sequel in which Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day return as three long-suffering friends. After enduring some trying experiences with their former bosses, Nick Hendricks (Bateman), Kurt Buckman (Sudeikis) and Dale Arbus (Day) decide to go into business together with their invention of the 'Shower Buddy'. However, their investor (Christoph Waltz) pulls his funding and instead creates his own superior version of their product. In an attempt to save their business, the trio enlist the help of ex-con Dean Jones (Jamie Foxx) and kidnap and hold to ransom the investor's grown-up son Rex (Chris Pine), who actually seems pleased with the situation. Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey also reprise their roles as the horrible bosses from the previous film.

Synopsis

The hilarious Horrible Bosses 2: Extended Cut is filled with even more outrageous jokes not seen in theatres! Nick, Dale and Kurt decide to become their own bosses by launching a business. After a slick investor deceives them, they hatch a misguided plan to get their company back.

The trio return, but this time with an invention that see's them become their own entrepreneur bosses, after the American dream. However, an unforeseen snag leaves them on the brink of losing it all, and they are forced into desperate measures to get some cash. Comedy & mayhem ensue.

After trying to kill their bosses from hell in the first movie, the three bumbling amigos, Nick (Jason Bateman) the smarter one, Dale (Charlie Day) the dumber one & Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) the best of both, set their sights on an ill-advised kidnapping plan. It's the same winning combination as the first movie, with silly, hilarious situations , my favorite probably being the Ocean's 11 style slick plan that goes totally haywire. The rude & crude humor, that's trademarked by the R-rated Jennifer Aniston (Friends) who returns as Sex addicted dentist Julia. Bateman, Sudeikis & Day are on top form, ably supported by the returning characters of aforementioned Jenifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx (Django) as the shady "MF" Jones & Kevin Spacey (American Beauty) as the hard boiled Harken. The fresh injections of Chirs Pine (Star Trek) & Christoph Waltz (

We all know sequels are hit and miss at the best of times. And, comedies are often the first to find it hard to repeat the magic of the original. ‘Horrible Bosses’ was fun, so ‘Horrible Bosses 2’ had a fair amount to live up to. But, it managed it. Just. But, in ‘comedy film terms’ ‘just’ is actually better than the average.

The three men from the original return for the sequel. Instead of wanting to murder their employers this time, they have set up their own business so they never have to work for anyone ghastly again. Only things go a little wrong when a company director agrees to purchase their product, only to go back on the deal. Once this happens, the trio start along another path of ‘dark thoughts.’

The first plus point is that it’s not just the three main stars who return. All other surviving cast members come back, even if it’s just for a cameo here and there and it does help to have a decent cast, again including Jennifer Anniston and Kevin Spacey.

The new ‘horrible’ bosses are pretty vile and you could probably imagine them existing in the corporate works (although probably most of us haven’t worked for their kind before). The plot is pretty much the same, i.e. revenge, but they do go about things a little differently this time (which is nice). Special mention to Chris Pine, who is about as far away from James T Kirk as you can possibly get!

There are a decent amount of laughs thrown in there to warrant the ‘comedy’ tag, but two out of the three leading men do tend to grate on you after a little while, as they’re just acting a little too immature for the serious situation they’ve found themselves in.

If you liked the first, you should at least smile all the way through the second.

Oh my.
I enjoyed the first movie.
It had mixed reviews, but I thought it was funny. It was silly and far fetched, but it was funny.
This one was NOT funny at all. I think they all just made it up as they went along. Not even the outtakes at the end were funny. There really was nothing about this film that I could recommend. Just seek out another comedy and not this one.
A major disappointment.

After the fantastic first movie, in all honesty there's very little in this one which relates to horrible bosses, and it really feels like a cash in. Jennifer Aniston plays a bit part, as does Kevin Spacey...but they're both welcome bit parts all the same. Christoph Waltz plays himself - and I'm beginning to re-assess being a fan of his as he really is the same character in this as he is in every Tarantino movie so far - and Chris Pine just looks like he's having a whale of a time.

There's lots of banter - and lots of people talking over each other - so if you have a "lively" room acoustically you might struggle with some of the dialogue. The characters are all caricatures, and it's really quite childish. It's crass, it's based on a lower common denominator compared to the first movie...yet I still enjoyed it.

We both laughed, and cringed a bit (although probably nowhere near as much as Aniston reciting those lines  ) , and enjoyed it despite it being a cash in.

Not a patch on the original, but worth a watch all the same.

This review is straightforward: if you enjoyed "Horrible Bosses", you'll enjoy this sequel; if you didn't, you won't.

It's something of a guilty pleasure of a movie: a good cast (including Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey reprising their roles from the first movie) who seem to enjoy themselves all the way through this simple humorous story of three ordinary guys who seem to have an extraordinary run of bad luck (the closing credits include a number of out takes).

In some respects, the trio of main characters (Nick, Kurt and Dale) are like a modern day (and raunchier) Three Stooges.

This time, they are escaping from their horrible bosses, by establishing their own business and becoming their own bosses. Then, the trouble begins, as they embark on a humorous journey from one misfortune to another, at the hands of business people whose aim is to thwart their chance of achieving the American Dream.

It's a formulaic light comedy- presented and played by experts, who are strictly playing it for laughs.

If you like the formula, you will find this to be entertaining. If not, watch something else!
