I would not change anything about this book (Joshua Mason, aged 11 Lytham St Annes Express)
I can safely say this was the most blood curdling, bone shaking and petrifying book I have ever read ... Each story is better than the last (William Martin, Holy Cross Catholic High School Lancashire Children's Award Catalogue 2002)

I read this book within a week and now i have brought Horowitz Horror 2 -
Just a note though this book does include some of the stories that you can get alone, these include Bath Night, Killer Camera, A Career in Computer Games, so annoying when you buy a book only to find that some stories you already have in a different book.
These tales of terror and horror really get our 10 year old wanting more, he says "that after reading anything else by another author, it just doesn't do it the same". Anthony Horowitz is the best at writing tales that capture our son as well as myself.
It really is great when told just how great the book is and can he have some more Horowitz books, then at least I can get to have a quick read too then we can discuss the stories. Once he got hold of the book we didn't see him for a least a good two hours as he was in is bedroom just reading this book, and not wanting to be disturbed. Now to me that is the sign of a good read.
A great read with no nasty voilent scenes and no bad language, just great story telling that chills you to the bone at times, but then again he is a master of telling horror at it's best.
A great stocking filler book for those that like to be chilled.
