From the first page I knew I was going to love this book. The story is truly heart pulling. I could feel the love (and lust) that was happening between Ava and Joel. And what is more appealing is that there is more story than just a book full of sex scenes. If you like books with a HEA, then look no further. Louise Bay will not disappoint you.

I am biased when it comes to this author as I love everything she writes.

Hopeful is a great novel that flits between the past and the present. Cleverly written it draws you in from the first page. I loved the story and all the characters and the dynamics between them. 's Bray is able to actually describe feelings of love and insecurity that we all feel at sometime in our lives.

Well worth a read.

Deserves more than a 5 stars!

I was given an advance copy of Hopeful in return of an honest review.

Wow!!!! Louise you have taken my breath away with this story. Absolutely amazing!

Ava and Joal are the main characters of the story, both at university trying to do well. Ava is the more quiet and shy, Joal is the heartthrob "player".

Now everyone would love a piece of Joal he's hot, smart and funny. Ava and Joal become friends whilst studying everyday together in the library.

After a while of fighting attraction to one and another they fall into a "relationship" of sorts. Just them too know and they don't tell their circle of friends.

However every story has a price to pay and it's a heavy price for Ava to make. She has a decision to make, one that can change everything.

You are going to have to read Hopeful to find out. I am not telling you!

All I will say this book is hot! Descriptive ;-) and will be getting you reaching for your man!

The story is written with such emotion from humour, love and lost. Their are 2 characters I will say look out for and that's Adam and Jules. They will have you laughing out loud I promise you!

Congratulations on a beautiful book and happy release day xxxx

Review of Hopeful

I haven't read anything else from this author so it was after reading a few other reviews as I came to post this that I discovered it features characters from a previous book. However I didn't feel I missed anything not having read that book.

I liked how the author jumped from present to past, giving the reader a better insight into certain situations and how they evolved in the past, and how they relate to circumstances in the present.

She uses first person narrative, from the point of view of the lead female character, Ava. Ava has a lot of concerns as to what has happened, and indeed what could well happen, with Joel. She needs to work through these throughout the story. The changing timeframe allows us to get inside her head, and begin to understand why she makes the decisions she makes.

What makes this book, for me at least, is the friendships among the main characters. These ties have lasted for years, and promise to last for many years after. Friendships like that are important, and the author shows the interaction between them all extremely well.

A good read, plenty of steamy fun, and an author I will be watching in the future.

I am no stranger to Louise Bay's books and this one does not disappoint at all (hence the 5 Stars). The beauty of Louise Bay's work is that her writing is effortless. She draws you into the story, making you fall in love with the characters before you even realise it has happened.

Let me start with the main characters; Ava and Joel. Ava is just a gem of a character. She is funny, doesn't take herself too seriously, gorgeous (according to her friends), the same insecurities as most women and just going through life trying to find true love. Whilst reading the book, I found myself thinking that Ava doesn't realise how amazing and gorgeous she really is. She is always wondering why would a guy like Joel like her, when he could have the pick of the bunch. Joel's character is a fantastic 'book boyfriend'; hot, lots of charisma, understanding, patient and kind.

"But I saved your spot." He'd saved me a seat, he'd saved me a seat!. I really shouldn't have been so excited.

The story is a beautiful and realistic love story. The characters are convincing - you could actually imagine someone re-telling this magical story of lost love in real life. The author has created the story using details from the past and present. It is entwined together so naturally that it draws you in, making you feel what the character is feeling.

The love scenes in the book are HOT and sensual. They range from intimate, leaving the reader to use their imagination - "Then I felt his tongue on me. Softly, almost not touching me, just a fraction heavier than air." To RED HOT - 'He was a man on a mission. A mission to f**k me senseless.'

A beautiful love story by Louise Bay.

I've now read all of Louise's books, for me this falls in the middle - I liked it more than Faithful but my favourite of Louise's book is The Empire State Trilogy - Ethan Scott is it for me !!!
Back to Faithful, it can be read as a standalone but it does occasionally feature Daniel and Leah from Faithful.
I'd recently had a few books that I couldn't finish, I needed a sure book hit and Hopeful delivered - read it in just over a day !
Loved Joel he's a sexy, hot, confident, alpha whose not afraid to fall in love. Ava has never gotten over Joel he is simply the love of her life.
The book is told in past and present, I loved and hated this, just as you were getting to a really good part in the present the story would jump back to the past and vice a versa ! In the end you end up with a well told love story.
As with all of Louise's books the sex scenes were of the scale hot, my hubby is always in for a treat after I've read one of Louise's books !!!!
I'm really hoping for Adam and Jules story next - fingers crossed
If you are looking for a funny, sexy, story with a HEA, this book is for you
