About the Author

Christabel Zamor has been teaching sold-out hooping classes since 2001 and performing hoop dance internationally for clients such as Cirque du Soleil and Universal Pictures. She trains and licenses HoopGirl Workout to instructors in gyms across the country.

I'm hoola hooked! Straight forward instructions from a beginners point of view. DVD gets you started with the basics. Don't be disappointed as it is difficult to do, its all about getting the knack so immediate progress is slow. Went on a hooping workshop and 2hrs later I can walk whilst hooping and twirl it around my head and all sorts of stuff i never thought I'd be able to do.This book is much the same as the workshop, I just don't think I'd have put in 2hrs practice initially. Great fun and a good laugh and I'm already seeing the desired results round my middle. Fab core workout. Can't wait for better weather so I can practice in the garden. Not sure if my light fittings will last much longer!!!

Great book. I had already used the look inside the book feature for this item so I knew what to expect. I was not disappointed. The exercises are well explained and the dvd helps as well. If you want to give hoola hooping a go then I'd recommend this book. I did a fair amount of research and feel I ended up with the best book

This book has been a great influence on me - I am now a self taught hoop dancer, not perfect but getting there. I recently enquired about lessons in my local area, and even the teacher follows the hoop girl techniques.

Great fun!

Books describing exercises and how to do them are often a bit of a disappointment, leaving the reader either a) not motivated enough to even begin their own journey or b) confused as how to do the exercises in a meaningful way.

This book breaks that mould. Beautifully illustrated, the descriptions and explanations of how to do moves and tricks are perfect. Take the book outside with you, pick a move and read it. Then do it! Easy.

It also has lots of case studies and little stories in it to help motivate you to start and keep going.

And hooping is such fun!

Be aware though, that I was an experienced hooper before I read the book.

This is an inspiring book that will teach you the basics but also much more. The dvd helps to get you going and is also a great work-out dvd.

I received this book as a present and I am currently new to hooping I found it to be brilliant. It covers all the main hooping tricks you will see in a lot of hoop dance and with the aid of the DVD breaking down the moves and talking you through them I have found to pick up the movements easily. They do take a lot of practice and its so much fun it really doesn't feel like working out. Everyday I find myself thinking about hooping and can't wait to learn a new trick. So far I've learnt Float, Nectar, Pump and a few others.

I do recommend this book for beginners and also its an interesting read with the articles about how people got into hooping and how its changed them.

WOW! This genuinely is great fun! Completely lacks the frustration and fury of beginning a new type of programme/fitness method. You will drop the hoop, same as you fell over when you were first learing to walk, but somehow it just doesn't matter. It is addictive and before you know it you will get going. It will certainly puff you out at first - I can see why it burns so many calories!

I bought it because I think my lower back and pelvis have been stuck in some really bad posture habits, and lack flexibility. I'm trying to learn bellydance, and it struck me hooping would help loosen me up. It certainly does help and I'm sure I'm getting much more out of it than just that. I'm doing hooping now for it's own sake, not just as an accompaniment to bellydance. It has so many benefits throughout the whole body.

I'm by no means good at it yet,but I'm enjoying it enough that I keep going back to it. I see it as a fun thing to pick up, not an enemy to be conquered!
