Very nice story about two people with previous disappointments finding each other and moving to the place where they are prepared to take another chance. They were both sympathetic characters and I enjoyed getting to know them, as well as the delightful cat. As a bonus, when Thea is stressed she enjoys cooking delicious food and we are given some of the recipes at the end of the book. I can't wait to try the Double Chocolate Cherry Cream Cheese Brownies.
I liked both Luke and Thea, both had overcome adversity to become successful in business. The cat was funny and adorable in its own sweet way. It did get a little unbelievable at times, especially with its aggressiveness towards Luke. Yet who is to say how much cats really understand. Mostly this was an easy read and yet at times it really played with my emotions. I will look out for Lois Winston / Emma Carlisle in the future.
