I had problems syncing other fitness trackers to my Honor 9 smart phone but this connects seamlessly.
The step counter doesn't seem to register quite as many steps as Google fit does but I feel that the watch is more accurate than the phone.
The heart rate monitor is... Not overly accurate, unless I have got some serious heart problems that my GP missed.
Find my phone is absolutely brilliant and has saved me a tonne of time in the mornings when I can't find my phone.
The build quality is solid and it feels sturdy. The strap feels nice and doesn't seem to react with my skin which I've had problems with before.
Getting it hooked into the charger is fiddly at first but once you get the hang of it, you'll nail it every time.
The battery is great and lasts around a week.
It has a few flaws mentioned above but for the price it's probably one of the best watches you can buy.
The pedometer was not accurate at all, it said I had completed 6 steps, when all I had done was take 2. The screen is great it would often disconnect from my phone and the app. The heart monitor only works when you test it not throughout.
The app is BASIC and does not seem to link with other apps.
I think mine was faulty so, I’d say buy it if you want basic functions but if you want more, save your pennies and buy a more expensive product like something from the the Garmin range.
Not yet tested the workout options other than Walking.
Positives : feels good on the wrist, at least it has a couple of clock faces to choose from. It is not too thick. Size of readings reasonable. Reacts well when you want to read it. Didn't realise you had to swipe the face to get it to show other features - I didn't see this explained very well. At least you can apparently deny it access to your contact list if you aren't going to use this feature. Again better than my present one.
Negatives : The instructions are very sparse. Uses a special connector to charge which is better than my present one where the strap has to be separated to attach to suitable socket. On first charge it stayed at 40% for several hours. I then got caught by needing to input weight and height in metric so I left it at the default setting for the time being as it wasn't too far out. When I started to use it I noticed it was missing my steps entirely for some periods. I tried to re-set the wt and ht values which means having to reset everything (tedious app set up could be much better). I hoped the reset would sort out the issues.
This is when the Bluetooth decided to fail so it would not link the band with the app.
Update to follow.
UPDATE: No problems charging this replacement or connecting via Bluetooth. Even though I only use a few features - walk & sleep - the battery will last about 10 days per charge.
After using my replacement for a few days I find this one also doesn't count steps when inside or going up stairs but is very accurate when I go for a walk. The sleep feature is useful . I still don't like the fact you can't choose to alter things like metric to imperial or change the number of steps per day as a target. I have given it one more star.
Further update. When an update is issued it can send it haywire claiming I have slept for 13+ hours and giving incorrect sleep start times. Battery life is only 5 or 6 days now and that is with many features turned off. I have had to totally reset this twice now. It would help if there were better instructions about this. Your phone or tablet needs to be told to forget the current device before pairing again. This is the step that I hadn’t realised it was on about.
June 2020 software updates continue to cause issues. It now thinks that when I am watching television that I am asleep - no, I was watching an excellent documentary. It never used to do this so I can only assume the updates have caused this. A great pity as it used to be a very good feature, now it is useless. STOPPED USING IT ENTIRELY. Lasted a little more than guarantee period.
It would be nice if it could tell you the cumulative minutes with your heart rate at certain levels. You can get an idea from the heart rate charts, which colour code for "fat burning", "aerobic" etc, but you can only make a rough estimate.
