Product Description

Homefront: The Revolution is an open-world first person shooter where you must lead the Resistance movement in guerrilla warfare against a superior military force. A living, breathing, open world responds to your actions - you and your Resistance Cell can inspire a rebellion on the streets and turn Occupation into Revolution, as oppressed civilians take up the fight. But your enemy has the advantage - superior technology, firepower, heavy armour and air support. You must learn the art of guerrilla warfare - ambush, sabotage, infiltration, deception - and fight a running battle through the war-ravaged suburbs of Philadelphia. And the single player campaign is just the start - in Co-Op you and your friends can form your own Resistance Cell and become renowned as Heroes of the RevolutionStory : Four years into the brutal military occupation, America is on its knees. Philadelphia - once the birthplace of Independence - has become a ghetto, where surveillance drones and armoured patrols keep the population at heel, crushing any dissent with savage force. Her once-proud citizens live in a police state, forced to collaborate just to survive, their dreams of freedom long since extinguished. But in the badlands of the Red Zone, in the bombed out streets and abandoned subways, a Resistance is forming. A guerrilla force, determined to fight for their freedoms despite overwhelming odds and ignite the second American Revolution. But Freedom always has a price…

Got this one on release and found it virtually unplayable as most people did. A few months on the patches have ,made a huge difference to the game I would even say I'm enjoying it it's still not perfect some glitches remain but a big improvement.

Played a couple of hours of Homefront yeah there's a few glitches that need sorting which I've heard there on with doing , but what i have played has the potential to be a solid game once teething problems sorted , I personally don't agree with the one star reviews but everyone is different it was never going to be a master piece like uncharted 4 , really looking forward to playing more this weekend , my advice is give it a try you could be surprised!

despite this game having glitches it dos'nt deserve one stars for it because the game play very good excellent missions to do plus side missions. the arsenal of weapons are good and what i like most about the weapons is that you can morph your weapon into another type. also you get alot of game play for your money.

I don't understand why there is so much hate for this game.
I've spent just over two weeks playing through the one player campaign and I enjoyed it.
- It's an entertaining and reasonably large, if you complete all side quests, FPS with some open ended play.
- The weapon mods are fun and varied. It's not often you get to use a home made blunderbuss.
- The graphics are, on the whole, very good to look at.
- You can unlock Timesplitters 2
However,
- It's buggy, NPCs duck and their legs disappear through the floor and some even appear to have the power of levitation
- The narrative has some pretty large plot holes, but hey, video games are supposed to be escapism.
All in all an enjoyable cheesy action movie style narrative with some good looking graphics coupled with some loud booms and bangs equal two weeks of brainless shooty style escapism. Give it a go!

Well the reviews are harsh I must say... Been playing this all afternoon and it's by no way as bad as is made out... The graphics I think are pretty good and there's a nice little game in here... Takes a while to get used to but so far not to bad...die a bit and then regen health might have been a better option...I think will stick with it and it's better than some of the other dross out on Next gen...

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I'm going to be honest with you.

If you buy this game for £40+ and truly believe that it was worth the money, you are mad. It's that simple. So without further delay, lets begin this review.

1). This game typically runs at 15-30 FPS (Frames Per Second) on the PS4. However, the game is prone to drops for the most part. Too much time is spent at the lower end of the 15-20 FPS spectrum, and given the game’s highest difficulty, this sluggish visual response creates an unnecessary hurdle when it comes to tasks as simple (and as crucial) as targeting enemies. Although there are rare times when this game does run at 30 FPS (usually during indoor firefights), frame-pacing problems in these stretches cause animation issues, which in return results in immediate death.

Then there's the "freeze issue". Most games nowadays will have an Auto Save feature, and this game is no exception. This game will Auto Save upon completing a mission, buying and upgrading a weapon, taking over and moving to a new area. However, when the auto save kicks in, the game freezes for up to 5 seconds. This freeze can sometimes also occur during combat situations, usually during stealth kills. It is an utter nuisance..

2). Graphically, this game is one of the most pathetic displays I have ever seen. It doesn't matter if you're on the PC, PS4 or Xbox One. The graphics are AWFUL. I have played PS3 games with MUCH better graphics than this (Crysis). There should be absolutely no excuse for graphics to look this bad on a new generation of console. If graphics were this bad on all PS4 games, there would be no point in upgrading from a PS3 to a PS4. This game, in some ways; reminds me of Far Cry 2. Colourless, bland, repetitive, BORING.

Ok I will admit that I should have done more research on this before buying, but I was a huge fan of the original game and preordered this so long ago that I don't think any info was even available back then. So going on the error of not researching I am going to base this on the game itself and try to leave my expectations out of it. Now, I had totally forgotten the original game was THQ and that the franchise was sold to another developer when THQ went under, so it's no surprise that this game barely resembles the original.
It has got some bad press, and to be honest, some of it is justified, but not all.
Unlike the first game, this is not a linear shooter, but an open world sandbox style game, and has a lot of similarities to games like Farcry series and Dead island, just not as polished.
Graphically it is kind of all over the place. At times it looks fantastic (especially the fmv) and at others it takes a dramatic step backwards (character faces and arm movements etc look very very last gen).

Its actually a fun game, but is very buggy. I am not about to list the bugs I have come across, but the worst thing in the whole game is the horrible screen freeze you get when the game saves. Finish a mission = screen freeze. Come out of the armoury = screen freeze. This is not something you expect on a current gen game.

It does have some nice touches, but nothing that original or worth shouting about.

Where the game is really let down though is that it has taken away the best thing about the first game, the multiplayer section and replaced it with co-op (once again, similar to the likes of Farcry and Dead island), something I have very little interest in, and unlike true online multi player, it limits the lifespan of the game.
