The cover of Homecoming and the book description grabbed my attention straight away and I knew I had to read it.
Crime/thrillers being my favourite genre, I do tend to read a lot of them which means I probably tend to have higher expectations as have read lots of amazing books this year so far. I found Homecoming to be a bit of a slow burner to start with and I wasn’t as gripped as much as I would have liked to be, but, the last 40% give or take of the book really picks up pace and had me totally hooked.
Alice is a struggling P.I. She has just been evicted out of her apartment for arrears on her rent and has no idea what she is going to do. Luckily, or not so luckily as the case may be, a good paying job comes up back in her home town. This is a place where Alice has run away from and has tried to put behind her.
The case itself really intrigued me and I thought the setting of the small town was perfect for the story. I certainly didn’t see the twists that were coming which had me turning the pages as fast as I could to be able to unravel more secrets that this town seemed to hide.
Homecoming is certainly a book worth reading. It is full of suspense and by the end readers will certainly not be disappointed.
This book, Homecoming, is also very good indeed but more of. Stand-alone murder mystery.
I really enjoyed it and didn't see the twist at the end coming.
