Product Description

Product Description

The first new studio album from Hollywood legends L.A. Guns in 7 years finds the boys paying tribute to the city of their collective birth with a heavy slab of classic Guns style metal! Produced and engineered by the inimitable Andy Johns whose credits include The Rolling Stones Exile On Main St., Led Zep s IV, and, more recently, the super group Chickenfoot! Phil Lewis & Steve Riley taped an appearance on VH1's That Metal Show that will air in late July! Three videos have been filmed for You Better Not Love Me, Requiem (Hollywood Forever) & Araña Negra! The band will perform at the illustrious M3 Rock Festival in May, which will be filmed and rebroadcast in HD to 35 million viewers on satellite and cable TV! Ever the road warriors, the boys have just returned to the US after a lengthy headlining tour in Europe.

About the Artist

Formed in 1986 at the height of the Sunset Strip metal explosion, L.A. Guns has become one of the Golden State's great musical dynasties, stretching into its 4th decade and showing no signs of fading. The band's first 3 albums are celebrated as definitive expressions of the no holds barred, melodic metal that consumed Hollywood and the nation in the late 80s and continues to find new audiences, generation after generation. Through numerous line-up changes and a wildly shifting musical landscape, the group has survived and thrived by staying true to the ethos and sound that earned the group its legion of dedicated fans. It's been 7 whole years since the last L.A. Guns studio album - 2005's Tales From The Strip - but that long wait is about to end with the release of Hollywood Forever, the band's latest effort and perhaps their best yet! With vocalist Phil Lewis at the helm, this album draws on the group's greatest strengths including the propulsive drumming of longtime Gunner Steve Riley, the gigantic riffs of virtuoso guitarist Stacey Blades and the solid grooves of bassist Scotty Griffin. Add into the mix one of rock music's most celebrated producers, Andy Johns, and this band is ready to once again conquer the Sunset Strip!

A great sounding album for long time fans, the old magic may not quite be ther, but you can still hear the good songwriting skills that these guys posses.... they make hard rock fun and enjoyable, without tryin to be hard men from hell lolll

Been a fan since the first LA Guns CD. Hollywood Forever captures that time again. It oozes with sleaze, swagger and groove. It's like being back on the strip back in the late '80s. I really really like this CD. And Phil's vox are just awesome. All killer no filler.

In many ways, the 80s were a simpler time. Some hairspray, tight jeans and songs about sex, drugs and Jack Daniels and you were good to go.
Then grunge came.
Widely held as being the killer of all things glam and sleaze, the 90s saw many an established 'hair' band frantically try to re-invent themselves, falling on their arses and off the radar as they went.
One of the many casualties were, of course, LA Guns - never one of the big hitters, but still able to trouble the charts.
Equally, they were able to trouble their own sanity. Dual identities, line-up changes, legal wrangles - while they may not have been causing cues round the block with each post-Vicious Circle release (itself, a hugely overlooked album in their back catalogue).
In recent years, however, there's been a return to form in the Guns camp. 2005's Tales From The Strip suggested they might have remembered what we all remembered them for - and then a mere seven years later, Hollywood Forever arrives.
Blending the more cock-sure approach of Cocked And Loaded with the more mature, yet still gritty, Hollywood Vampires, Forever is a glorious blast of all that was good about the LA scene (and don't let the snobs tell you any different - it was FUN).
