The tale does drag a little, I'm sorry to say and there are a few too many instances of filler, such as the multiple mention of the roommate's female toe/foot fetish, which got dropped in a too many times for comfort and which ultimately went nowhere.
I'm not sure why, but there seemed to be a lot of emphasis placed on race/colour, which as an Asian woman, I found a little uncomfortable, despite both the guys being black/part black. It would have been fine mentioned once or twice, but there was a little too much in it.
The premise of the tale is a white lie from one guy to gain himself a way of spending time with the other, which then spawned a lot of little, not-really-bad lies that made things a bit murky, before a do-gooder with love and good intentions helped make things right.
ARC courtesy of the author and Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure.
Adam Siegar is a hot Canadian hockey goalie who meets a guy at an after match signing and it's lust at first sight but he doesn't know he's gay as he has a young boy with him, his nephew, but Adam doesn’t know this.
Cason Reyes is just a normal guy who brings his nephew to see a hockey match, when he sees the hot goalie and straight away gives him his number on a hot dog napkin...
They meet up and have coffee and a hot steamy kiss but Adam over zealously says there's a party the team are having for kids and him and his nephew, Finn, are invited too only there's not really a party!
This story could have been so much more, it had real potential.

Parts of the developing attraction between Adam and Cason are sweet and touching. However, Adam really did get off on the wrong foot with Cason and he doesn't really ever recover. His actions in the beginning are really kind of stupid, and he keeps making stupid choices. Sorry, I don't buy the "love makes me stupid" argument. (What he did might have been dumb but it wasn't mean-spirited and didn't hurt anyone.) I don't want to spoil how Adam gets off the hook for the problem of his own making, but he did.
A slow and steady approach leading up to a 'real connection' and boy does it get steamy at the end. It's a very short book and won't take a ton of time to read.
This is cute, sexy, and heartwarming, with a lesson learned.
I love the morality in this tale, about telling the truth and caring for people's feelings. Owen and Bailey were great bonus characters I wasn't expecting. They grabbed my funny bone and my heart at the same time. This story had it all, humor, sadness, suspense, compassion and hot sex. The beautiful writing makes reading a book by Locey a great treat.
Great writing and love their story..
