Hollie Newton is a self-taught gardener. She is also a multi award winning star of the creative advertising industry, having worked with everyone from the BBC, to Volvo, to Prada. Hollie maintains that, if she can coax a misbehaving courgette from her tiny Shepherds Bush garden, while simultaneously running a creative agency, anyone can.
A “wellie-wearing Dorset girl who accidentally got stuck in London,” Hollie started growing vegetables and fruit on her first tiny rented balcony in an attempt to escape from the pressure of her job, reclaiming a slice of the natural world in which she feels happiest. Despite living directly below the Heathrow flight path. What started as “a few hanging tomatoes” rapidly became a borderline obsession... then a major publication.
Hollie's debut book, 'How To Grow: A Guide For Gardeners Who Can't Garden Yet' is out now.
