I thought this would be great for the kids when they went on their holiday. It’s something that both my eldest and youngest can do together, (last year I found a local shop that did these kinds of books for days out), but this is ideal for their Summer holiday. :-)
There’s also 150 stickers. My two love stickers, (I don’t know many children that don’t like stickers), and will put them to good use in this book.
There are 48 pages in total and the given age range is 6 to 8 years old.
At the front of the book, there’s a map of the world, straight after there’s a page for their names, a space to say where they collected their items from and the last space is for the date of their holiday.
There’s even a page that tells you how to use the book, which I think is a great idea, especially if they haven’t used anything like this before.
The activities are named on the top of each page, for example:- Let’s Go, A to B, Found Objects, Rubbings, Set The Table, Holiday Park, Weather-O-Meter, Treasure Hunt and more.
Every activity will keep their mind focused on both enjoying their holiday whilst also learning about their new surroundings they’re are in.
At the back of the book, there’s also a little pocket where they can place things like tour tickets, leaflets about where they’ve been and much more.
Threaded through the back cover is a piece of black elastic, which is used to close the holiday scrapbook and keep, everything safe that’s inside it.
I can recommend this book. :-)
Have fun with this and it will be a lovely collection of memories in years to come.
It's a structured scrapbook / journal, with different sections for different aspects of the journey. It has a pouch to keep stuff in before you stick it in and some (to my mind redundant) stickers.
In all, it's a very clever book that helps kids think about the journey, helping to shape them as little travellers.
It is not, however, a hardback. The copy I was sent had stiff card covers. I'm not sure how long that will survive in a backpack or deal with wet stuff,
The book is colourful and has some daft things to do, but all are based around the holiday. There are also stickers to use in the tasks or just for fun. This is an excellent gift for a enthusiastic child to take on holiday.
I think it’s best aimed at 5-8 year olds but anyone of any age could have fun with this.
There are good thick pages colouring pens won’t bed through, lots of pages and activities including stickers.
It’s also educational in the best side aspect while having fun way
