This set of CDs contains over a hundred sixties tracks covering all years from the decade but I personally would have been happier without the pre-63 stuff and more from the later years as for me this is what the sixties were about. As well as including some one hit wonders (eg Ohio Express), the compilers have concentrated on a number of well-known artists from the sixties such as The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Searchers , Sandie Shaw, The Tremeloes, Gene Pitney and Petula Clark and scattered five or more of their best known tracks across the four CDs, so you are in effect getting several 'greatest hits' selections in one purchase. However, there is one big drawback to this compilation and that is that some of the tracks are not the original recordings but are by all/some of the original group members at a later stage of their careers. This fact does not become apparent until either you hear the tracks concerned and realise something is not quite as you remember or you study the inside track listings. None of the eight Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich tracks are the original recordings, nor are the seven Gerry and the Pacemakers tracks, so if you are purist and want the original recordings by these artists this CD is not for you.
