Interesting book on a remarkable man.

If anyone is interested in discovering why the Vietnam conflict happened - read this book - you will find out in an hour (the time it takes to read it)

Book is factual - doesn't glorify or demonise Ho.
I would like to read a more in-depth bio, yet am happy that I got the basic info on his life.
(I did find it tiresome, the constant referral to Ho Chi Minh - could the author not have used Ho ??)

Extremely vague and poorly constructed. You'd do better with a general internet search. Left out chunks of time, for e.g. One paragraph mentions the Geneva Peace Treaty in 1956, the next starts with 'Vietnam suddenly became the key battlefield of the Cold War. By 1966, the Vietnam War was in full swing'. And that's it. Really it is because in the next paragraph Ho Chi Minh is dead. Alternatively, the writer would repeat bits of 'information' in three or four different ways in the same paragraph. It is dismal and if a student wrote this piece I'd expect them to have another go.

2.0 out of 5 stars Short and Lite 15 Oct. 2012

I downloaded this book for flight back from Hanoi and was a bit surprised at this "biography". Is only 16 pages and seems gleaned from internet searches, I found more information on wikipedia. Grammar and general sentence construction is rudimentary at best.

I gave it 2 stars for effort and making it to Amazon but .99 cents would have been pricey for this content, let alone the $5.97 charged.

3.0 out of 5 stars Leaves you wanting more. 16 July 2013

Anyone who has investigated the incredible life of Ho Chi Minh is always looking for something new. This is on the right track but at 19 pages it is way to short. I have read a number of biographies that are much more comprehensive.

Very short and skeletal in nature. Easy but informative read. I will search for a more in depth book to obtain a comprehensive look at his life.
