Don’t panic! The Hitchhiker’s saga returns once again with a full-cast dramatisation of So Long and Thanks For All the Fish, the fourth book in Douglas Adams’s famous ‘trilogy in five parts’.
‘At the risk of being controversial, it’s better than the book... Hitchhiking is back – long may it continue.’ Guy Clapperton, Radio Times
The Earth has miraculously reappeared and, even more miraculously, Arthur Dent has found it. Returning to his cottage after... well... ages, he falls in love with the girl of his dreams.
But Ford Prefect is on to something which might well burst Arthur’s bubble. There is, after all, something very fishy about his girlfriend’s feet, and what has happened to all the dolphins? Perhaps, at last, all will be revealed in God’s Last Message to His Creation…
Simon Jones returns as Arthur, Geoffrey McGivern as Ford and Stephen Moore as Marvin. William Franklyn is the Book and Jane Horrocks is Fenchurch. Guest stars include Stephen Fry, June Whitfield, Bill Paterson, Arthur Smith, Sir Patrick Moore, Jackie Mason and Christian Slater.
This extended CD edition features 30 minutes of material not heard on BBC Radio 4.

Review
Simon Jones masterfully reprises his role as Dent as if 25 years hadn't passed. With other voices from the original and slightly updated sound effects, this audiobook delivers all the guilty pleasures that made this series popular so long ago. ― AudioFile
About the Author
Simon Jones MBE is a former professional cricketer who played for England, Glamorgan, Hampshire and Worcestershire. In 2005 he tore through the Australian batting order, swinging the ball at pace, and inspiring some of England’s greatest ever victories as they regained the Ashes for the first time in almost twenty years. That series he dismissed every single Australian batsman apart from Glenn McGrath, taking 18 wickets at an average of 21. Injury forced him out of the final match at the Oval and prevented him from playing Test cricket again. He subsequently fought for eight years to return to the top level despite a series of further setbacks. Now retired, he lives in Cardiff with his wife Justine and his two young sons.

Having really enjoyed the 'Primary Phase', liked 'Secondary Phase' and enjoyed the 'Tertiary Phase' I was unsure what to expect from this fourth phase. But I need not have worried it's a very good and adaptation of the 'So Long and Thanks for all the Fish' book.
There are some very good story lines, the rain god story is very amusing and the bisuits in the cafe is also good.
This phase is I reckon my favourite one so far.
If you like 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' and have enjoyed previous phases of the radio show then give this a go.
It's not Douglas Adams at his best, though. It's entertaining but just not as innovative as the earlier offerings in the HHGTTG series.
My guess is that his heart was already leaning towards Dirk Gently...
