About the Author

About the Author: JS Nagle began his career in Intelligence as an Interrogator and was cross-trained in Counter Intelligence. A Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, JS Nagle spent many a night preparing to jump into the darkness with only a parachute strapped to his back and his weapon at his side. JS Nagle has received training at the prestigious Defense Language Institute for both the German and Spanish languages, and he holds an expert qualification with a number of weapons. In his private life, he has earned degrees in Economics and an MBA in Organizational Management; he spends his spare time training for Ironman triathlons, chasing his entirely too fast toddler-daughter; loving his brilliant, clinician wife whilst bragging incessantly about his son who is a cadet at an unnamed private University in Washington DC.

I found this book by chance as Amazon have been doing a Christmas promotion, and "clicked" on the off chance that it might be good. Well good is an understatemen! it is probably one of the best books I have read all year, and I am now reading the other one by this author, and I can honestly say, I shall be keeping an eye for the next one in what I hope will be a continuing series with Michael Sterling. The plot is good, the characters are excellent and it a lightening read, that I couldnt put down. If you like Matthew Reilly or Andy McDermott then these are the novels for you. I was still reading this book at midnight, so you know it is good, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

After reading 'The Hand Of Christ' this is a book that needs your urgent attention. The History Thief does not disappoint. Whilst reading this you challenge yourself to keep to a few chapters, but this never happened as I tried to keep on going as long as my eyes were willing. Fantastic Insight and accurate Information on historical places, happenings and great characters make this book excellent. Twist and turns and also a mouth watering end (no disclosures)kept me enthralled. More of the same please J. By the way Liam Neeson would be perfect as Dr Sterling In a movie. Dave

After reading 'The Hand of Christ', I couldn't wait to get my hands on this follow up.

Once again, Michael Sterling crosses paths with 'The Order' in a global conspiracy dating back to Christ.

The first two thirds of the book are very action based - military operations, conspiracy, robberies, etc with the final third switching to Dan Brown mode for a historical treasure hunt.

The story is gripping and relentless - really difficult to put down.

I have a few gripes, which have lost a star from the rating:

* The author insists on trailing everything that is going to happen so the element of surprise is often lost.
* it's a long book and the same tricks are used too frequently - bullet proof vests, etc.
* Early on, there is an event of global impact but the rest of the book never really feels like it's happened - no sense of realism around the reaction.

Anyway, looking forward to the next in the series.

I was told to read this from a friend and i'm so glad I did
I personally don't follow this type of story line but I must admit it had me hooked from the start.
The books strengths are in the depths of how much the author has looked into his subjects , religion , politics and total believability of his characters.
5 stars were given for the price, the story, the enjoyable and down right fun and fast pace of the yarn.
The kind of people that would enjoy this book are those wanting something to keep them glued, historically accurate, emotionally hyped and overall happy to see more of the same in following novels

This story starts off three years after 'The Hand of Christ' so you should really read that one first as it is referred to in this one.Three years on and Dr Michael Sterling is director of the C.I.A. now but his life hasn't slowed done a bit,in fact he's off to find the history thief, his wife and clear his name all in 48 hours.
This is another brilliant book from an author who knows his stuff and has used his knowledge to write a fast paced and exciting thriller.I gave it 5* because it never slows down but keeps you out of breath to the very last page .

"We would like to tell you how enjoyable your two books -"The Hand of Christ" and "The History Thief: Ten days lost" were.
My wife and I are keen reader of Dan Brown and Clive Cussler we found your two books as good, if not better than any of the that we had read from these other authors".
"We have recently moved from paper books to Kindle books and as we spend a great deal of our retirement in Turkey we find the convenience of the Kindle great for reading and listening to Audio books. so we look forward to reading more from you2.

Another great book but it took a while to get into it. It's best to have read the first book by Nagle to better understand this story.
The pace picks up throughout the story and there are more twists than a slinky. Absolutely fantastic plot lines.
I just wish that the end would not have been so predictable - I should have stopped reading at the epilogue.

Having read The Hand of Christ by the same author I was itching to get started with this book. On the whole it didn't disappoint, there are a few editing issues which were a little annoying and Granada is confused with Grenada, one thing I will say was that there was a little too much covering old ground and outlining the plot of the first book, apart from that it was another solid plot and entertaining read. I'll certainly read the next one!
