Ratpack are DJ Lipmaster Mark & MC Evenson Allen who joined forces in 1986 at the birth of the warehouse / rave scene. As Ratpack they have played throughout the UK at the defining events that have shaped the dance scene we know today - Fantazia, Rezerection, Biology, Interdance to events at Helter Skelter, Moondance, United Dance, Dreamscape... and taking their sound worldwide to Australia, Japan, USA, Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean building a diehard fan base. Following the success of "The Old Skool Masters" series that helped to pave the way for the 'old skool' scene the time has come to deliver this essential collection of classic Ratpack productions that have gone down in clubbing / rave history and for the first time ever they have all been brought together, featuring 'Searching for My Rizla' (a UK No 1) first released in 1991 with the much sought after Rhythm Masters Remix, 'Captain of the Ship' 'Clipper' & 'Fantasy' along with exclusive tracks and re-mixes.

Ratpack are simply the best where old skool hardcore are concerned and are still going strong today. Searchin for my rizla is probably one of the famous songs they ever made along with "Captain of the ship". I remember them from the fantazia rave scene days back in the early 90's when quality hardcore really was quality hardcore back then.
The inlay booklet provides some very interesting info about the duo and what inspired them to write them. If your a fan of Ratpack and the era then this should already be in your collection so get buying right away.
Oh and the second disc is a mix of their songs :) just incase you prefere that to just normal tracks. and one last thing.... "Oi Oi" :)
Some of the tunes are good - searchin for my rizla - but most are AVERAGE and as much as I enjoyed Ratpacks live sets back in the early 90's I have to say this is disappointing as most tracks are what I would consider to be fillers. Only for hardcore Ratpack fans only.
