Another quality celebration of jazz music in this offering from Prism Leisure, this time featuring big bands. Highlights for me include tracks by Benny Goodman "Stompin' At The Savoy, King Porter Stomp, Don't Be That Way" and "Who?", Ella Fitzgerald "Sing Me A Swing Song (And Let Me Dance), A-Tisk, A-Tasket" both with Chick Webb and his Orchestra, and two recordings by Count Basie and his Orchestra, "Shoe Shine Boy" and "One O'Clock Jump." There are some other lovely tracks by Duke Ellington, Bennie Moten, Jimmy Lunceford and Louis Armstrong, and for me, only one track seems out of place and could have been replaced by a better inclusion, that of "J'Attendrai (Tournerai)" by Django Reinhardt with Stephane Grappelli.

The transfers on this previously owned disc, which lasts for approximately one-and-a-quarter hours, are as good as in any other collections that I have on other labels, and the tracks are taken from the years 1931 to 1938. A list of songwriters are included and a two page liner note by Tony Watts.
