If you are interested in the development of mechanical clocks/mechanical watches, this is a great read. Provides excellent detail with pictures to support the writing rather than a picture book that adds captions. Book begins with the science of time and ancient time keeping devices before moving into the history of mechanical clocks and mechanical watches (pocket watches).
