His to Seduce is Camden and David's story and like David there was more to Camden... she's carefully guarded for obvious reasons and we were yet to find out why.
David's had his sights set on Camden from the first time he laid eyes on her but knew he had to bide his time. Being away for Tyson and Blue's wedding in an exotic location presented an ideal opportunity, their story takes off from this very moment.
Even though Camden and David hit it off in more ways than one and the chemistry between them was pretty hot you could sense the hesitation on both parts for different reasons... Camden because she was full of doubt and David because he knew she was full of doubt and he wants so much more, he just had to convince Camden she wanted the same... he knew he had his work cut out.
As the storyline builds so does Camden and David's relationship, trust is very important to Camden so when she finds out that David isn't just a bartender but a doctor and that for the last 6 months nobody thought that she should know... well everything backfired. Camden felt deceived but David had his reasons, he was holding onto the blame for loosing one to many patient... one in particular that really affected him and for this, had him questioning his profession. He was also yet to talk about it.
Chelsea was a great support for Camden as was Aiden to David, they gave them some home truths after all look what Chelsea and Aiden had been through and still going through with the loss of Derick... if they can come through that then so can Camden and David.
It took a little while but everything worked out beautifully... love life, their careers, friends and family. I loved the epilogue especially Camdens mum and her partner being made welcome and included more, it was a nice touch.
This has been another fabulous series from Stacey Lynn and through it all, Aidan and his son Derrick has had the most impact throughout, it touched everyone involved.!
I was hoping there would be more from the (Just One Moment) series. I know there were four books but I wanted Thad or Landon's story ??
Thank you Stacey Lynn.!
This was David and Camden’s story and wow, what a story!
Camden was so careful, the sort of woman that doesn’t take things at face value and likes to dot all the I’s and crossing every T. She does her homework on everything in life and while I think that might be a very claustrophobic way to function, I sort of understood why she was the way she was and I think I admired the fact that she was true to herself BUT when she took a leap of faith while in Jamaica, I was whooping with delight…was the start of something totally fantastic? Would we finally see the complete Camden?
David had left his true profession behind, leaving medicine to become a bartender and yep, I know some may say WTF but he had his reasons and like Camden I think I understood why he had done so. He kept his past as a closely guarded secret, not that he had folk absolutely sworn to secrecy nope, he just made sure that only a select few knew about his past and those that did where more than willing to leave him to tell his own tale.
But with Camden he knew she wasn’t the sort of girl that would take his subterfuge kindly, could he make sure that she got to see who he was before the true he wanted to keep to himself reared its head?
This was a story of personal journeys, both individually and as a couple, I wanted nothing more than for the two of them to be the shoulder that they had to lean on and in many respects, they were. They presented each other with a balance that as individuals they were missing. Camden was able to take steps towards being the woman she used to be with David by her side and I don’t think that, that would have been possible with anyone else.
I liked the fact that the author peppered the story with little pockets of angst and attitude and that they both had to face their demons head on in order to move forward, I just wasn’t sure whether I would get the happy ever after that I wanted or if the author had something more tucked up her sleeve.
Superbly written with a cast of characters that were eclectic and enticing, I was totally absorbed and thoroughly invested…great read!
"Tonight would be hours of slowness, hours of me taking my time...bringing her over the edge over and over again."
David may have his secrets but he wears his heart on his sleeve and has the most perfect bedside manner. I love a man who makes his intentions clear yet is patient at the same time, and he is irresistible.
“You’ll always come first with me, Camden.”
What I have to applaud Stacey Lynn for though is how likeable she made Camden: in the previous book I wasn't taken with her, but this was turned on it's head. Yes she's particularly frustrating at times, yet her reasoning, despite the double standards that come into play, were relatable and understandable bringing an emotional angle.
"Thank you for being you."
I have to say though, as lovely as the ending to His to Seduce was, it still felt unfinished for me and I would've liked to have seen how things played out further down the line for other characters with being the end of the Fireside series. But I guess that comes down to personal preference; overall it was a great read and as I still have the first two books in the Fireside series to read, I'm glad my time with these characters isn't over just yet.
