Review

“To have an exceptional child you must be willing to have an exceptional child. You have one. And this book will teach you how to raise him to be not only exeptional, but healthy, loving, well-adjusted, and happy.” Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D.
Praise for The Highly Sensitive Person:
‘This remarkable book speaks clearly to highly sensitive people. It gives a fresh perspective, a sigh of relief, and a good sense of where we belong in society.’ JOHN GRAY, author of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

Such a lot of great advice for people who find they have a youngster struggling with everyday life.
Thank you to Elaine Aron for her understanding.

What I didn't like about this book was that it labels your child. However, does provide some useful insight into helping your sensitive child.

What a relief to know that there are loads of people out there just like my child - and me.

To be honest though, I haven't even finished this book yet as the format is making it difficult for me to actually get through it. The information is good but it feels like I am just reading list after list after list which makes it quite difficult to get through.

Personally, I find books like these go in far better when listened to as an audio book, but I tried to no avail for almost a year to get this added to the UK version of Audible.

What an insight into my gorgeous 3 year old son. Wish I had read this book 2 years earlier! It's stopped me worrying so much and reassured me that it's not my fault that my son is a bit different to some other children (note: 20% of the population are highly sensitive, so he's not really that different!) The book gives you some good advice on how to deal with your sensitive child on a day to day basis. My son is certainly having less tantrums now that I have learnt to accept that his socks DO feel strange every time we put them on. I'm currently researching where I can buy seam-free socks from! There are lots of case studies mentioned in the book which make it easier to read and understand.

Gentle approach to nurturing a highly sensitive child. A good read, I would recommend this book to anyone with a HSC, I am even getting family members to read it.
