A Brilliant bag, I’m chuffed I bought it for my trip!!
It's only started to show a little wear now, but as I say I used it almost every day carrying my life in it, at full capacity for a year. I had some reservations of not going with one of the really expensive brands, but don't worry, it's great.
It has a little rain cover in the bottom, the side pockets are big enough for a shoe each, and some other bits. Access to the main bag area through top and bottom is really handy, so you can kind of grab something easily, knowing which end it's nearest.
It's also adjustable, had a little play getting the strap height and positioning right when i first got it, and ended up being comfy for lots of walking with the bag. If you're thinking of buying, don't hesitate, just go for it.
Plenty of little compartments which are handy for quick access to something small and the waterproof cover was a bonus when it rained in Thailand. The only downside is the easy access zip to the lower compartment of the bag which is very handy, but you have to be careful that the material around it does not get caught in the zip
I like that it has a pocket on the right hip strap which the berghaus doesn't have; useful for storing compass or things you need to get at while on the go.
Its has a large zipped lower compartment which can lead into the main are, but like most has a draw cord to separate it. The lower compartment zipper is very hard to zip up at times which can get annoying; easy to unzip though! Today I threaded the zip for the bottom compartment because it is so unusable and just keep getting stuck, so not to happy with it now.
There seems to be an ample amount of straps all over the thing.
My one negative is the zips catch sometimes on the material covering them. This can be sorted but compaired to mill type bags that take all sort of abuse without any fuss this is a minus. However for the price I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it.
The only detriment is that it opens at the top and there is no zip to open it entielry which meant If I was looking for a particular item then I had to unpack everyone in the ruck sack.
