This classic of inspirational faith in the toughest of circumstances deserves to reach a new audience. (Ministry Today)
The Hiding Place is one of the most inspirational books that you can read, the true story of Corrie ten Boom a Dutch Christian who somehow survived the Second World War. This is a story about faith and the power that can give a person, the courage that it gives believers to forsake safety for the hope of saving others...This is a book that people should read that will give you hope in mankind and faith in Christ. (Various online)
In this 70th year since the end of the Second World War this is a most timely reminder of the triumph of the human spirit in conditions that today's generation can barely imagine. (The Methodist Recorder)

Other than myself, there are so many people I know who would benefit from the book.. Those who suffer from 'everyday' frustration & depressive moments, due to our lust for more money and more success. Those who keep resentments toward their family, friends, colleagues, anyone who did them some or great form of wrongdoing. It is so encouraging that Corrie was just one of us many Christians, who had faith but didn't know if we had the courage to be faithful to our faith. Corrie just asked God for the grace every moment and she received it.
Also....as a Christian, I personally still had the question about why God let people suffer. This book answers part of the question, by witnessing all the things Corrie had gone through, and by showing how Corrie came out from all as the victor, because Jesus is the victor.
However, her writing style is very easy to read. Amazing story (I'd read a shorter version many moons ago at school), inspiring. Shame people like Corrie have been needed to protect others throughout history (probably unknown people nowadays doing similar).
The bible has all I need for daily enrichment as it encourages, challenges and equips me to be more like Jesus. So when I choose to read a book, it's because its inspiring hearing people's everyday stories of triumph. Corrie Ten Boom and her family had a horrific experience but did not let this define them or deter them from continuing to show God's love in action.
Since deciding to become a Christian in 2007, I have read some books that have really challenged my faith and awakened new things in me. This book unearthed parts of my heart and is helping me be more like Him! #recommendingwholesomereads
