Taking a new angle on the superhero genre, we see how they struggle from day to day with simple, everyday problems we all face. How does one save lives when stuck in London traffic for instance? It's packed full of humour too, incredibly witty and not afraid to poke fun at the genre itself, my favourite character has to be 'the Loner', a guy who takes his job more seriously than others, in context it's a great contrast with the protagonist, who clearly hates his job.
Indy comics are often a gamble for new readers, but with Hero 9 to 5, you definitely won't be disappointed!
bought this on someones recomendation and was not disapointed.
got some great jokes and british humour in it, also the art work is amazing.
really worth the money and very enjoyable.
cant wait for the sequel
two thumbs up
Easy to ready, and terrifically funny, the story of these heroes engaged in their work and their home life has a feel that is funnier than the typical heroes out of cape or costume story. Mr. Sharman does a wonderful job of keeping the reader engaged in both the action and the format, with a witty narration and even a fourth-wall breaking joke in the fourth book.
As a light reader of comic books in general, this one held my interest and was hard to put down. The art is amazing, with an excellent layout. The colour palette is rich and appropriately brings the mood and style to life.
I would highly recommend this graphic novel to you, with the following warning: Order two copies. You'll read one, and you'll want to keep one sealed away for safe keeping! Hero 9 to 5 is a keeper.
