Product description

The Message Trust started with a word from God from the book of Isaiah: 'See, I am doing a new thing!' Over the last two years, founder and CEO Andy Hawthorne has brought regular teaching from the book of Isaiah to the movement, constantly calling them back to the themes of Isaiah's ministry: passion for God, personal holiness, the renewal of the church and the wider world. Here I Am, Send Me captures the tension between the power of God's Word and the power of personal stories, combining fresh teaching from Andy Hawthorne and the first-hand testimonies of people transformed by Jesus Christ through the life of The Message. It's beautifully designed with all-new photography and artwork from the Message:Creative team.

He's one of my closest friends so I'm biased, but I have witnessed first hand the integrity, passion and commitment to the gospel of the Andy Hawthorne OBE and the impact of the Message Trust - where hopeless cases are transformed into urban hope bringers.

If you get the book you'll see a very short commendation from me on the back, 'Dynamite.' The church needs a stick of dynamite like this to blow us out of complacency and into action. Whether you're a believer in God yet or not, you won't be able to deny the miraculous changes from the stories of people's lives which are not filler for the book but the outworking of faith in action.

Over the years as a prayer partner, when I walk into his office to meet with him there will be on his desk something, commentary or article, about Isaiah. His Bible falls open at its prophetic promises and he's preached so well and so often on it because he has hung onto those words and promises so often since the vision was birthed.

Because God has spoken to him through this prophet it's helped shaped Andy to be a prophet for our cities and land. This short but thoroughly Biblical treatise is born from Andy's years of study and being a 'doer' of that book which has been so pivotal for him.

It is also mixed with true personal life stories today of God doing 'A New Thing' in individual lives, so good I read it through in a single sitting.

In any creative enterprise there are risks, and false-starts resulting in glorious and rare fruit, often unseen elsewhere. Manchester has known the gift of the Message Trust, and God's honour has been seen in the mix of this gritty, consistent movement of changed lives. The unrelenting faith of a life sent on purpose is portrayed in inspiring terms here. The parallel pathway of Isaiah and northern mission finds rootedness in the pursuit of God, holiness, service and transformation in this world.

Scripture, stories, creativity and journal space give this new title and range of publications, lots of capacity to inspire ongoing urban mission. This is a title, packed with earthy stories of presence, sacrifice and transformation. What's not to love about seeing the gospel in action, and this pacy twelve-chapter resource will add fresh energy to the cause of Christ.

Faith and action are best seen together. And this is a great encouragement in uncommon grace and lives given over to all that Jesus wants. Congratulations to Andy Hawthorne and Alistair Metcalfe in the delivery of this attractive and inspiring resource. It's a refreshing read about the scale of the gospel, the delight of service and the difference that Jesus longs to bring. Top class stuff.

Some really inspiring stories of young lives turning from despair to dynamism with God as their guide. The Message Trust does this sort of work brilliantly. You read of young drop-outs turning from drugs, abuse and all such terrible things and rising tall like phoenixes, falling in love again, only this time it's with Jesus. It's a book of social triumphs. Author and Message leader, Andy Hawthorne, encourages the reader to put a mirror to their lives, write them in this book, pray on it, beware pursuing celebrity for celebrity's sake etc. and can you have the same courage these kids have? Those who aren't seeking fame and fortune, just Jesus. Those who say 'Here I am, send me' and mean it? This well-designed guide takes its backbone from the book of Isaiah and promises yet more incredible things from our schools, our prisons, turning young lives around... Go, go, go The Message, keep going... you're changing lives and locations for the better and it's ALWAYS great to read about that.

Amazing book. Found it very inspirational and encouraging. The testimonies are incredible. It very clearly givens dealer understanding behind the book of Isaiah and is very relatable. Having followed the work of the WWMT since a young teen I have experienced first hand the incredible work they do in reaching out to new christians. If it wasn't for the hard work of WWMT then I am sure my life would have been very different. They reach out to broken teens and show them the glory of God. Amazing work and amazing books Thanks Andy! :)
