The Message Trust started with a word from God from the book of Isaiah: 'See, I am doing a new thing!' Over the last two years, founder and CEO Andy Hawthorne has brought regular teaching from the book of Isaiah to the movement, constantly calling them back to the themes of Isaiah's ministry: passion for God, personal holiness, the renewal of the church and the wider world. Here I Am, Send Me captures the tension between the power of God's Word and the power of personal stories, combining fresh teaching from Andy Hawthorne and the first-hand testimonies of people transformed by Jesus Christ through the life of The Message. It's beautifully designed with all-new photography and artwork from the Message:Creative team.

If you get the book you'll see a very short commendation from me on the back, 'Dynamite.' The church needs a stick of dynamite like this to blow us out of complacency and into action. Whether you're a believer in God yet or not, you won't be able to deny the miraculous changes from the stories of people's lives which are not filler for the book but the outworking of faith in action.
Over the years as a prayer partner, when I walk into his office to meet with him there will be on his desk something, commentary or article, about Isaiah. His Bible falls open at its prophetic promises and he's preached so well and so often on it because he has hung onto those words and promises so often since the vision was birthed.
Because God has spoken to him through this prophet it's helped shaped Andy to be a prophet for our cities and land. This short but thoroughly Biblical treatise is born from Andy's years of study and being a 'doer' of that book which has been so pivotal for him.
It is also mixed with true personal life stories today of God doing 'A New Thing' in individual lives, so good I read it through in a single sitting.
Scripture, stories, creativity and journal space give this new title and range of publications, lots of capacity to inspire ongoing urban mission. This is a title, packed with earthy stories of presence, sacrifice and transformation. What's not to love about seeing the gospel in action, and this pacy twelve-chapter resource will add fresh energy to the cause of Christ.
Faith and action are best seen together. And this is a great encouragement in uncommon grace and lives given over to all that Jesus wants. Congratulations to Andy Hawthorne and Alistair Metcalfe in the delivery of this attractive and inspiring resource. It's a refreshing read about the scale of the gospel, the delight of service and the difference that Jesus longs to bring. Top class stuff.
