Product Description

Sam Carter studied guitar with Folk Award Winner Martin Simpson and has also supported an impressive list of artists, including Davey Graham, Spiers & Boden, Findlay Brown, John Smith and Lisa Knapp. In 2007 he took part in a collaborative project with Mobo winner and Mercury nominated artist Nitin Sawhney which culminated in a performance at London's Royal Festival Hall. As a result Sam has been appointed Emerging Artist in Residence 2008 at The Southbank. Here In The Ground is a collection of five moving stories of love, loss and shipwrecks; sung from the heart and accompanied by Sam's own inimitable fingerstyle guitar playing. Artwork includes photographs inspired by each song. Tracks: Bones / Here In The Ground / Second Story / She Won't Hear / Next Of Kin Live dates include: 29 March - Two For Joy (Folk Day) Cecil Sharp House, London / 10 May - Holmfirth Folk Festival / 18-20 July - Camp Bestival, Dorset / Oct-Nov '08 Support on Bellowhead tour.
