I bought this to use on gigs (Rowdy pubs and weddings) after searching and searching for a specific 'iPad Air' mic stand mount.

To feel secure for iPad Air you it needs to have it's case/ smart case on! Or a bit of foam or rubber at the back and corners as the horizontal corner supports don't fit perfect (5mm each side) But if you have the case on, the vertical support allows you to lock it nice and tight.

I've used this on several gigs with people dancing on a wooden floor right in front of me with my mic stand bouncing all over the shop, or actually bumping into it and nothing seems to phase it.

I have a friend who bought two specific holders for his iPad 4 (after it fell out of the K&M one :-/) and he agrees that the Hercules is best as keeping the case on, saves hassle and reassures me that if anything does go wrong the iPad is still protected

Plastic is of good quality and with the swappable table stand attachment, it doubles for a really sturdy free stand.

This is well constructed from what seem to be quality materials. Having three separate attachment options (clamp to a mic stand, attach to the top of a mic stand on the standard screw fitting or propped up on a desk/table) is nice and all of the attachments seem rugged. The ball-joint that allows the position and orientation of the tablet to be set is also excellent.

I'm not too sure about the claim that it will hold tablets from 8.9" upwards: I use a Google Nexus 9 which is only barely wide enough to fit between the two corner slots. I worked around it by putting a piece U-channel plastic from B&Q the full width between the two corners and sitting the tablet into that. This solution works great but I wouldn't have trusted the 9" tablet to stay in place without that extra support. On the other hand, with the addition of that full-width channel I have used this stand with a 7" tablet and it worked great. I have no doubt that a 10" tablet would sit securely into this stand without any problems.

All in all, an excellent piece of kit.

This thing is fantastic! There's one attachment to stick to a music stand, there's one for table top use and there's one for the top of a microphone stand! (I took the top off of my music stand and put the little attachment on it, shown in the photo!) It's amazing! very well made and compacted to I can put everything in my harp case or backpack and it's all there! If you gig regularly and only use your iPad then this is definitely the thing to get!

I also got a cup holder which is pretty snazzy! but the screw broke for that after one use :(

This cup holder (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0013NDUSM/ref=pd_luc_rh_top_sim_03_01_t_img_lh?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) very meh...

But this holder is AMAZING!!!!!!

I bought this to hold my iPad 4 to a mic stand, to read lyrics, chord sheets and set lists when playing guitar with a band, mostly for in rehearsals. It does the job well and is a welcome relief from sheets of paper - much more efficient and neat.

As has been noted, it doesn't clamp properly to slimmer stands, which I found disappointing. I had to find some foam draught excluder strip offcuts to stick inside so that it would grip my lightweight Proel stand. Effective but inelegant

It's a well-designed holder and the ratcheted slide makes insertion and release of the iPad (without cover) easy. iPad controls are accessible at the edges when in place. The ball socket works well too.

I was a little surprised that all parts except the tightening screws and hinge rod (for stand clamp) were all plastic. However, it seems very strong material so I would trust it not to break.

I feel confident using this with an iPad. Not sure whether I'd use it at a pub gig but that's more to do with potential beer incidents, clumsiness of people after a few drinks and the theft potential of an iPad.

Well recommend (but noting above points) although I think at c.£30 is a little over-priced. £20-25 would more reasonable.

I have all Hercules guitar stands so I went for this stand for my iPad . The design is pretty shocking. You have to screw a large yellow nut on the back to tighten up the unit against a ball that stops the iPad moving up down and left to right . When I tightened it up it popped through the nut and the iPad fell on the floor .. So sent it back and bought the k and m one and it's the best one as far as I'm concerned..

Have given this 4*'s as think the ball adjuster does not allow as full an articulation as I would have liked or indeed thought it would. That said it works well. I also have slight concerns re its durability, that is to say not too sure how many times I will be able to repeatedly attach and detach it from my mic stand. That said, I do like and use various Hercules guitar stands and have never had a problem with them so it may be that this item will stand the test of time.

What a brilliant device this is. I needed something to put my lyrics on when rehearsing with my band, it's easy to forget lyrics or not bother too much about them when rehearsing, but I was aware I could do with the lyric written down. So that is what i used to do, that is I would print them out put them in a lyric book and try to find a place to store the book that I could when rehearsing, which was really difficult. Then I found this device, which allows you to clamp the holder to your tablet, in my case a 10.1" tablet and then clamp the holder to the Mic stand which meant it was directly under my neck around chest height on the boom stand (a vertical stand might not work I would recommend a boom stand) and then I was able to sing and read the lyrics directly in front of me, brilliant. I also found that by putting all of my word document lyrics into a single PDF document I was able to use my finger and scroll through the 30 song list in alphabetical order all on the one document, brilliant again.
