Ulfric Freysson and his Viking warriors are raiding the small village of Penniglas, there has been some resistance and killing on both sides, then his huge warriors mysteriously begin to fall unconscious, by Thor’s Hammer what is happening?... He notices a raven haired beauty with a sling shot, excellent aim and fiery temper to match. Taking her prisoner he is determined to make her his, Fiona has ideas and a mind of her own.
The prisoners “Thrall’s” are taken by ship back to the Norsemen’s homeland, Fiona is kept by Ulfric and taken into his home as his bed slave and to help care for his son Njall, however his sister Brynhild despises her on site, her maliciousness intense enough that it left Fiona fearing for her very life......
As time passes Ulfric is able to see the way in which Fiona has become mother to his son, helps run his home and will defend those under her care to her last dying breath. His Celtic thrall has indeed mystified, hypnotised and spun a web about him, since that first day when he saw her hiding in the bracken, felling his men with her sling shot. At first sight she’d captivated him and his love for her holds him in her heart more surely than a wedding ever could hope to signify........
This was a wonderful read, the character were larger than life, the roughness of the Viking raiders and the thralls once they reached their shores ensured that life was hard, only the strong would survive....
The lessons of discipline were painful, humiliating and often on a bare bottom, the sexual chemistry was Hot!...Hot!...Hot.... and you will find that once you start reading the book it is impossible to put down until you discover the end......
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Possible minor spoiler in last paragraph 12 April 2017

To me this book felt slightly different than some other books that I have read by this author. It is not totally what I expected, however it is a enjoyable read. The writing is exceptional, myself learning a couple of new words along the way. There is plenty of explicit sex and domestic discipline. It included more classic BDSM than I usually like except that a similar amount in Her Alien Commander and some other works seems perfect.
It may be the story's historical time period and setting that somehow seem not to fit with underlying themes of acceptance and forgiveness, with some of the story scenes, with POVs of certain characters, and with the rapidness in which cultural change occurs. Because of this, as a reader, I felt like I was constantly being swung back and forth between harshness in various forms on one page and an atmosphere of moral virtue on the next page.
On the other hand, there were some fantastic characters in this story, so much so, that I found myself wanting the story of Taranc and the story of Gunnar instead of Ulfric or in addition to it. Both of these other male characters were heroes. The book is neither short nor long. My preference would have been to have had a longer book with all three of these tales intertwined over a bit longer period of time.
All in all this is a very good book, just wishing to know what happened with Taranc and Brynhild after his departure and also how the relationship came about between Gunnar and Mairead and what was going on in Gunnarsholm. This author continues to be a favorite; and, this book will appeal to all those who enjoy erotic historical romance.

I enjoyed the story line a lot. I like reading about the trials and tribulations that the couple's go through. It's got tossed scenes and discipline actions as well but there is a story to be had.

Alright, I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it. The author did a great job describing the scenes where I could really picture them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Her Rogue Viking 10 April 2017
By Maureen Mary - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
As a lover of the medieval period, i have been exploring this type of literature. i am not a teenager, not repressed, consider myself a moral person and have no problem with explicit sex. Most sexual encounters occur within a passionate committed love before or after marriage in these romances.I understand that spanking in all its variations arouses some.
This book seems to be on a journey where the hero evolves to a more understanding lover. However, what he does to the h is not always consenual. i love also the line where the H tells the h he would never hurt her and then proceeds to hurt her more (in text's words).
Although the erotic nature of humiliation and pain is what is intended in this genre, I wonder if the H's lovemaking would work without it.
I wonder is ever some author would consider allowing the h to regain some self respect and have the H suffer the loss of what he holds dear as in the love of the h because he uses, punishes, tries to own her. Then have the H really experience an epiphany as the H and h come together in a real equally passionate love.
I taught literature in a historical context for close to 50 years, well aware of the posituon of women and the nature of the violence of the period, bur the nature of love and self respect is universal.
