I watched these guys supporting The Answer in Portsmouth and liked them enough to buy the album. I am not dissapointed with their brand of blues / rock which has a 70s feel but without trying to be too retro. The sharp riffs and a sense of fun are addictive and while the first two tracks, "Livin' in Sin Again" and "Comfortably Crazy" are especially good but the album is pretty strong throughout. Well worth buying the album and catching live if they are around your area.

These boys know how to recreate 1972. Super album by a band who should go places. Very impressive second album after a good first one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reviving the very best of the NWOBHM 1 Nov. 2011
By Matt Syverson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I found these guys by a random YouTube vid, and boy am I glad. I've had this album on repeat ever since. This is high energy rock reminiscent of the best of the NWOBHM. The playing is flawless and reminds me of Sabbath at their best and tightest. The arrangements are very inventive and a lot of the music moves in an almost 'boogie' rhythm. Although the guitar playing is world-class and the bass rock-solid, my highest compliments are reserved for the vocals. If you are sick of the growling style, you'll dig this album. And you'll especially like this if you like British rock from the seventies. If you would have told me I was listening to a band of that era, I would have believed it. And that is the hugest compliment I can give to Gentleman's Pistols. ROCK ON!
4.0 out of 5 stars a fantastic heavy rock album 17 Jun. 2015
By Justin G. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
British heavy rock band Gentlemen’s Pistols released their second full-length album, titled At Her Majesty’s Pleasure, in 2011. The band, another fine signing by the Rise Above label, has a perfectly-executed retro heavy rock sound that draws from bands like Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and Led Zeppelin.

Gentlemen’s Pistols has that late ‘60s heavy rock/heavy psych style, but with a strong blues side. At Her Majesty’s Pleasure has a wicked groove and plenty of soul. It’s way more upbeat than the usual Rise Above fare, but still has that heaviness underneath. In terms of recent peers, think Graveyard meets Scorpion Child, and maybe Rival Sons.

This is just a fun, heavy, rocking album altogether, and is more proof that Gentlemen’s Pistols is a band worth keeping an eye on. Fans of similar bands like Spiritual Beggars, Gypsyhawk, Kadavar and Scorpion Child will definitely want to give Gentlemen’s Pistols a go, and they should appeal to the old school heavy rock fans as well.
4.0 out of 5 stars Put Sabbath and Thin Lizzy together..this is what you get 6 Dec. 2012

Rock solid album - thank you Amazon!

Good gritty rock sound and good stoner-rock vocals

If you like the riffs of Sabbath with Thin Lizzy type vocals and production, I think it is an accurate describtion of this band.

Definitely looking forward to their follow-up.
