I really don't know what to make of this story. I still had no clue by the end of it. The writing isn't great, and it can be quite difficult to follow - and that's not because of the lunacy of Wonderland and the Hatter; it's just poor writing. As for the story - well, I'm not sure what to make of something that seems very much like pure fanfiction based on the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland. And I really don't know what to make of a sexually graphic Mad Hatter. It just seems ... odd. And not in a good, Wonderland, way.

So what we have is poor writing, a fanfiction plot line, and something that's neither fish nor fowl nor Cheshire Cat. I don't know what the rest of the books in the series are like - I hope they are much better. But I shan't be taking the risk.

Danika is a fairly godmother, to a group of bad boys, Hatter, Hook, Jinni, Gerard and the wolf. she has been trying to get them hitched for some time, but now is faced with a dilemma: get them all sorted within 12 months.

Hatter is first up. Danika knows his love is Alice, and she has been parading many different Alices before Hatter, and one especially he though she was the one. however, she wasn't, but now, that darn fairy has dumped her great granddaughter on him, and he aint happy!

Alice Hu has been a Hatter fan forever. more so since she was 13 and had a brain tumour. in her darkest hour, she called to Hatter and he came. she hasn't forgotten him. He, however, seems not to be able to remember. Alice has 3 days to convince Hatter, and Wonderland to accept her.

Hatter is mad, but some of the things he says, well they don't seem so mad to me. he came across as a tortured soul, needing to be loved, but it had been so long since anyone loved him, he cant love himself. his reaction to this Alice is understandable, but we heard from him, and how he was dealing with it, not just from Alice and how she was.

a fab introduction into the Kingdom series, and I will be following them all. (I already have book five as it was free at some point, and still is, as is this one!)

I liked the concept of this novel which is basically about Alice finding love with the insane Mad Hatter. Not one of my fav reads this year but I might carry on the series to see what other fairy tale "bad boys" find love with their matches.

Okay, I enjoyed this book, it was slightly strange but enjoyable. I found it a bit weird having sex mixed with fairy tale. I've read other romantic/sexy fairy tale books which have been loosely based on the basic story lines, but this was very Alice in wonderland.

Alice is very much into wonderland even before she goes there, the hatter well his handsome with a gorgeous body, only problem is his losing his mind slowly being on his own. Then Alice shows up.

I have to admit i did like the magical land, were it all takes place, especially the magical wardrobe, There is a twist which I wasn't expecting too.

"Bad boys needed love too. Her boys weren't dangerous- just naughty. But naughty could be very, very fun."
---------------
"Everything has beauty," she said, "but not everyone sees it." Her stomach hurt, her eyes burned. "I saw you, Hatter." Her words whispered through the night. "I saw you." She walked away."
-------------
"Why any self-respecting fairy godmother would pass them over for an inane twit who relied on animals to do her housecleaning was beyond her."
-------------
"Oh my gosh, she'd cracked. Her mother was right. Too much Wonderland and sugar had finally rotter her brain."
-------------

I would say give it a try its different but enjoyable still.

I will check out next in series.

3.5 vampy and racey stars.

I am totally in love with this series and am continuing to follow the kingdom characters under 'Marie Hall's new pen name - Jovee Winters

I won't give spoilers but basically take everything you ever new about the bad boys and girls from the enchanted forest and chuck it out the window.
This series will have you rethinking it all :-D

Go On - Treat yourself

Good story but sometimes found it hard to read because spellings and when "he" was talking the author often referred to him as "her" so got a little confusing.
Overall a lovely story and am tempted to go on in series I just hope the proofing is a little better.

:) but still rate four stars because I enjoyed it and read in one evening so clearly could not put it down ****

I really enjoyed this book and it appears that I really liked the differences that other readers have hated! I LIKED the fact that the Mad Hatter was ........ well,.......... mad! I LIKED the fact that he was hot and sexual. I LIKED that Alice was already a fan of Wonderland and I really LIKED the fact that this wonderland was crazy, psychedelic, magic and NOT like the Disney film!

If you want a fairy godmother then I would ask for Danika as she has attitude. One of my favourite quotes in this book comes from her when she is thinking about her boys and Cinderella - "Why any self-respecting fairy godmother would pass them over for an inane twit who relied on animals to do her housecleaning was beyond her."

This story is crazy, fun, hot and makes reference to Johnny Depp which is never a bad thing! If you want a bit of madness in your life then read this short novella. Recommended for fans of Mercedes' Lackey's Five Hundred Kingdoms series.
