In Her Father's Daughter, the book focuses on Victoria Teliga, a young woman about to re-open her late father's business, the Club Valletta. Alongside her business partner George, an old friend of her father's, Victoria intends to run the new Club very differently, aiming for class, great service and an enjoyable atmosphere, rather than her father's club which was full of illegal gambling, deals and prostitution. The opening night is a success, and soon Victoria has many wealthy and elite clients signed up for private membership. One member, Johnny Daniels, catches her eye. Dark, mysterious, handsome and with a seemly devilish side to him, Victoria is very intrigued by his charms and smooth-talking. But is he all that he says he is? Or does he have a secret and possibly dangerous hidden agenda?

I cannot describe how much I enjoyed this book! I was very intrigued by the story from reading the blurb on the cover, and within the first few pages I was completely hooked by Victoria and her lifestyle. I raced through the chapters, and I was even staying up late in the evenings to read as much as I could! (Me to my fiancé: "Just a few more pages and I'll be turning off the light...honest!")

The storyline was fantastic, absolutely fantastic. I loved the idea of an elite club where only the wealthy and high members of society were members, and for it to be hosted by a glamourous woman too was wonderful. I felt as though the story was like an exciting, electrifying and dazzling movie, the descriptions were so good that I could imagine the scenes playing out before me. Another thing I enjoyed is that the story is set in Southampton and the surrounding areas. As I live in Hampshire this made the story that extra bit more special for me.

This intriguing romance had me from the start..the heroine is gorgeous, admirably hard working and knows her own mind, her heart, however is another matter!

I admit, I fell for more than one man in this dangerously enticing novel, beautifully written in June Tate's evocative style which brings the sights and sounds of the era to life so easily,I could have been there.

Sharply observed, softly sexy and with a nail-biting climax, it's another great read, from this great writer.

I cannot believe I have only just come across this author. I am now on my fourth of her books and every one I have read in no more than two days. This story is a kind of sequel to "No one promised me tomorrow" which was the first book I had read of this author, so some of the characters had appeared in that title and you felt you knew them. There is romance, intrigue and a great story that grips you from page one.
