This shirt is mainly made of soft cotton and has a slight stretch to it which provides a slim fit and a contrast-colour collar. Wear this dress shirt with straight-leg jeans and brogues for a relaxed but smart look.

It's made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, which may displease some buyers, but the combination means that it's quick and easy to wash, dry and iron, making it handy for the working week. It's made in Bangladesh, and my experience of pure 'Indian' cotton garments, which lose shape upon washing, makes me glad this is a mixed fabric. In fact, this shirt could've been worn directly out of the packaging, as there was minimal creasing and minimal pinning of the fabric, and body heat would've gotten rid of any folds.
Unlike with this brand's Regular cut shirts, the Slim sizing is a little on the stingy side (yes, I know it's Slim, but there's Slim, and there's Stingy-Slim) - a Small (label says 15=48 but the product page size guide says a 15=40, which makes NO sense!) fits him a little too tightly around the just-above-elbow area, but is fine everywhere else. On top, a minus is that the label is tightly stitched into the back of the neck, and is a more than a little stiff and scratchy; ideally I'd have liked to remove it, but this would likely leave a hole in the shirt. In contrast, the label in the Regular fit shirt looks the same, but doesn't feel as abrasive. And, whilst the composition of both shirts is technically the same, this is definitely a thinner fabric than the Regular shirt (see my review), as both feel and weight confirm, as does the lesser see-through factor with the other.
Compared to work shirts from M&S, this is expensive for what it is, and I'd have been happy to pay about 2/3 of the current price for this.
As a shirt it's pretty much a smart grey item that pairs with lots of other jackets or trousers. It's that fit I am most inclined to rave on about as it isn't some unpleasant slim-fit monstrosity. Instead it's tailored to be a standard to comfort fitting, and for someone of average body shape it'll fit fine.
There are lots of other shirts that purport to be standard fitting but squeeze where it is most uncomfortable. This is not one of those, it just fits and fits comfortably.
It suits him as he is athletic with a slim torso and he had good room for maneuvering and the armholes are placed high enough for him to move comfortably. The collar was comfortable and he was able to fit in two fingers as is usually the test. The shoulder width and arm length fit as expected.
It's a 65% Polyester, 35% Cotton combination, so you will get the softness from the cotton and the durability of the polyester. I generally prefer the mix to be closer to 50/50, but this mix means that it will be easy to care for. It can be machine washed, doesn't shrink or wrinkle as easily and generally keeps shape better than higher cotton content shirts.
We think it's well finished with no obvious runs and a slight pull to test the stitching didn't result in any issues. The colours and finishing is stylish and formal and could well do for work or more formal occasions out. The charcoal shirt with the black collar might not be to everybody's taste, but we think it looks pretty good and it's nice with a bit of play even on formal shirts.
The price for quality is about right and we are happy to recommend it
Size says 16 on the label. I normally take a 15 but found this fit me snugly so you can try it if you're normally a medium or large shirt person.
It's a little unusual in colour, with a charcoal body and a black collar.
But it does look nice. And it's a very snug and comfy fit.
It's 65% polyester and 35% cotton.
And fully machine washable.
A great product. If it just had a breast pocket, as I like shirts more with those, it would be a five star. But it's still an excellent shirt anyhow.
