Not a bad box-set, and after the last 'Hellraiser box-set' which was to expensive for me plus was sold out before its release.
And I bet some people brought more than one copy and are now trying get rid of them with over the top prices. Shame on them.

Well anyway I am just happy to have the films on Blu-ray but I am a bit disappointed with 'Hellraiser's' Blu-ray transfer because the picture is very grainy, it does have some good scenes but all in all not the best 2.5/5 from me. But 'Hellraiser' 2 & 3 are very good they both get 4/5.

You do get loads of bonus features per disc plus original art-work and new art-work which does look nice. The sound is in 5.1 DTS-HD MA for Hellraiser 1&2 but Hellraiser 3 is in DTS-MA 2.0 and all sound nice. And all films have English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

One thing that has annoyed me and that's amazon who have once again mixed this box-set reviews with the Italian Blu-ray release. I would like to to know the real reason why amazon do this?. Personally I think they are a bunch of idiots.

I was destined to find a decent Blu-ray release for the hellraiser series since the DVD and TV broadcasts were appalling. I looked far and wide across the net and found various releases from a variety of countries including the USA and Germany, I was looking specifically for a UK release since not all DVD and Blu-ray are region 2. Unfortunately I found there is no such release of the trilogy in the UK and the only compatible releases are the German, Australian and this Italian trilogy. I really wanted these three classics in Blu but I didn't want to pay stupid money for it, that's exactly what sort of money the Australian and German versions were going for.

After seeing the mild price tag on this release I started to investigate it, and after thinking about it decided to take a gamble and go with this release; all I can say is it was certainly worth the risk. These three discs arrive in a very nicely presented hellraiser themed presentation box which looks stunning by the way and let me continue by saying that's not the only thing that looks great. The picture quality on all three movies is far superior to any other release I know available, the third film looks especially stunning. You can see how much sharper and clearer the movies are and also the image color looks more vibrant and vivid throughout as well. There are only two minor negatives about this release and they are that there are no special features included on any of the films and that all the text on the case is in Italian, but hey what do you expect its an Italian release. I Highly recommend this release to Hellraiser fans and Blu-ray enthusiasts, you cant go wrong for the price and you wont find a trilogy of these films anywhere around this price range no matter where you look so go on buy this before I Tear your Soul Apart!

I think these transfers are more than acceptable and the price of ÂŁ10 the cheapest of anywhere around! I really cannot understand the negativity of some reviewers about them. On HD projection they seemed fine to me and I've worked in the film industry for 30years. The Italian set is a recommended bargain!

Stephen King once claimed Clive Barker was the future of horror. On the written page he was right, in my opinion. On screen Barker's works have had a different fate. The atmosphere of fear and dread begin to build early, the first appearance of the Cenobites is brilliant in an age before full blown digital effects doing everything. The ability of Clive Barker on paper is great, the conversion to celluloid doesn't really hit the heights of the book. It's good, but not great. The idea is brilliant, but the dated effects and side plate of cheese do take away from what could have been breathtaking. What ruins this box set is the sequels. The film spent itself in the first movie, the sequels while OK were never as good as the first. If you want it for completeness then go ahead, otherwise just buy the first film and leave the others alone.

That's all I can really say about this set. If these really are newly remastered 2k versions of the movies it certainly doesn't come across as being particularly sharp. The image quality is pretty grainy on the whole, and the sound mix is diabolical. The sound is really muted regardless of whether you are playing the stereo or 5.1 mix. Sorry guys, but this is just not a particularly good effort in my opinion.

Let's get this straight right away - this is the standard retail version of the Limited Edition box set that was briefly available before Christmas 2015.
It contains remastered copies of the first three films (let's be honest, they're the only good ones in the franchise) plus a boatload of extras. There are commentary tracks galore, deleted scenes thought lost, original promotional material and newly commissioned documentaries.
Be warned though; Although the new docs are listed as Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound they are in fact edited versions with a shorter runtime - the Hellraiser doc is some THREE HOURS shorter than it should be and the Hellbound doc runs 2 hours instead of 3 hours 15 mins. What you get here is a perfectly acceptable package but if you're buying this set for the docs, look elsewhere.
